The answer is a resounding YES. Golovkin felt brook had not even enough power to bother him so decided not to even avoid the shots. He gave Brook the chances he could of kept him behind the jab and worn him out but decided to walk threw him. Its very easy to avoid getting hit and win a UD its harder to stop someone and beat them up. Compare the brook fight to the stevens and lemieux fights and you can clearly see that Gennady tightened his defense against those 2 and never went full out like he did against Kell. In the monroe fight he virtually let monroe tee of on him how come he never did it for david or curtis? if he was unable to avoid the shots surely david and curtis would also be hitting him the way monroe and brook hit him? For Golovkin winning a UD against Brook is a failure maybe for someone like Mayweather that would be seen as a very good win.
I think he does. After he's felt them out and realized they can't hurt him, he let's them punch him, for multiple reasons.
He walked right into some beautifully executed uppercuts from Special K and kept pressing the action. In a way he reminds me of old school Vinny Paz who would allow others to take free shots and at times beat his own face......Self TKO....LMAO So yeah I think he does this based on the opposition
