Degale reckons he used to get knocked out in sparring all the time, and he could barely stand after being jabbed.
Funny that DeGale couldn't knock him out the first time, then. I'd say his chin is about average, maybe slightly below. He was badly hurt by Anderson but he's not exactly a complete non-puncher, and he actually recovered fairly well. He's nothing like Khan, for instance, who was getting wobbled by featherfisted non-contenders. Or Kirkland, who got flattened by one.
His natural style of fighting means his heart takes over from his brain and he takes unessecary shots. Hopefully they have addressed that because he is a top quality boxer. Personally cant make my mind up if he's naturally chinny or just walks onto clean shots.
Groves swings his head back. He doesn't understand how to roll with shots. I wouldn't be shocked if he closes his eyes either. He's not get the best whiskers lets just leave it at that....for now.
I think the chin issue is vastly overrated, which is why i have gone big on a Degale points win tonight, at the bookies.
It's his legs that are the problem. He's absolutely exhausted after five rounds unless the opponent is backing away from him. If he sorted his movement out and stopped waving his arms about like a string puppet he'd fare much better.
^^^ Agreed. His footwork is ridiculously over done. I mean he doesn't move naturally it's like he forces every movement. Tbh All this having Haye with him and fighting like him and training like him won't do him any good. Haye's stamina has never been the best and Groves is the same so far he just about got past a under prepared Anderson. He spunks his load firing childish bombs and tonight i hope DeGale pays him proper. Smug **** that Groves is i like to see him defeated in convincing style.
I agree. 4/1 Degale points seemed massive to me. Not convinced DeGale will risk all going for the stoppage late on, especially if Groves hurts him early. A possible lack of stamina and being susceptible to bruising is more likely to leave to a stoppage than his chin I think. Even those with the best chins would get tagged and hurt if they had a defence as leaky as Groves'.
Anderson is a solid puncher and even he couldn't keep Groves down, if DeGale is going to get the stoppage then it will be through sheer accumulation
anderson probably hits harder then degale, degales the 1 who¨s vastly overrated with the Bull**** comparisons to PBF
i heard adam booth knocked groves out with a potent gust from his anus, after a good night on the beer!
