Very true, I mean he clinched against Jc all through the fight and Cortez who lets get it right broke up hatton every time he got in close against floyd allowed Bernard to do everything.:huh
its funny how they talk **** on the man for his style yet call Hopkins style of clinching and holding and hitting skills, double standards when it comes to these haters.
No doubt Hopkins is a dirty fighter and is guilty of doing the same things that Hatton is acused of doing but he has also put some of the most impressive boxing clinics of recent times against Tarver,Pavlik and specially Tito, the kind of performances Hatton can only dream about.
My take is this. He looked bad against most Southpaws i feel he has faced. Now Juan Urango fight was a clear win but it was a ugly ugly ugly win. And for me Hatton wasnt effective in close at all. Luis Collazo i feel won that fight and the only thing that saved poor old Ricky from that was his flash knockdown of Collazo in the 1st. He was clearly outboxed the rest of the fight. Eammon Magee Knocked Ricky down in the 1st round but late on tired and lost a close fight that Ricky for the first time looked like he might struggle against the big boys. Jonathon Thaxton was a good fight it was a close fight with Ricky taking the fight to him but i feel Ricky looked really bad against Thaxton at times when Thaxton used his jab. Joe Hutchinson is well a No Name really that got sparked by Ricky and KO'd in the 4th. This is really oh and the Steve Smith fight that Ricky looked good in. But for me it its not the Urango fight or even the Magee fight that tells me most. But the fight with Collazo a fighter with great footwork and a fast jab and hook which will be even faster when it is Pacman. You get all that you get your outcome think Late TKO with Ricky's face looking somewhat like i Jabba the Huts towards the latter rounds.

I think all the punches he's taken in the past will catch up to him. You can say the ODLH fight didn't mean much, but neither did the Malignaggi fight! Paulie was feather-fisted to begin with, and on top of it he barely could throw his right hand. The guy's got 5 career KO's! lol If anybody thinks he can "box" against Pacquiao like he did with Paulie, they're out of their mind! I'm neutral towards both fighters, but I don't see any way Hatton wins, and I think this may be become very brutal for him after 4 or 5 rounds." Bazooka_X3 Response: "Paulie doesnt mean much? Really cus he cant punch? He did very well with Cotto, the man can box and has quick hands and the reason you should pay attention to this fight is because Hatton did not get hit as much, Hatton dominated every single round and stopped him. Cotto when he fought Paulie went the full 12 and the fight was close. You should keep that in mind~ but I think I would rather sit back and watch you all get the shocking of your life." wnedwnedwned
why this thread is ressurected? anyway, this analysis is classic though its the other way around. the right hook sets up the left hook:good
