Does having a higher intelligence equate to ring smartness?

the best boxers are a little dumb... i mean boxers in general are not that bright.. but i think they have to be a little not there in the head to be a great fighter... a smart person wont make a good boxer..

90% of Yanks aren't yokels from sparsely populated areas of the south. Believe it or not, at least 50% of us can work out the difference between Australia and Austria. Believe it or not.

But I'm pretty sure 90% of us hate the term "yank." Fkin Red-Coats.

I must be honest and state that I never considered the term "Yank" as a derogative slur (Not that I use it).

My fellow countryman did make me smile, when I read his post!!

I'm from the city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and I prefer to be called a "Geordie" as opposed to "English" (Uptight ****ers) never mind "British"!.

 

I dont think Mayweathers dumb, when he isnt acting like an ******* and having regular conversation he is a halfway intelligent guy, he just gets bad mannerisms from having dumb family members like his dad and Roger, must have got the smarts he does have from his mother.

I think Pernell Whittaker is a genius in the ring, and pretty much a dummy outside the ring, and im not talking about his drug issues(there are alot of smart addicts) im talking the way he talks and carries himself seems like a dummy.

 

Bonecrusher Smith was just a Big Punching Plodder not showing much intelligence in the ring,but he is a college graduate.

Carlos Palomino had solid boxing skills but more puncher, not what you would call a Scientific Boxer. Also a college graduate.

Rafeal Ruelas not that smart of a fighter relied more on his Punch and aggressiveness but is a very smart buisness outside the ring, i forget what he is doing now but i know he is a succesful buisnessman.

 

Just a question not a beef or anything but i would figure Floyd to be one of the smartest boxers in the ring in history. What makes you disagree?
