Does having big calves give you more punching power?

    Then how do you explain the type of devastating knockouts that Julian Jackson use to deliver? The Hawk threw a lot of those KO punches from an unbalanced position and they were also very short.

    Big calves no. High calves with a big diamond calves on the top, yes.

    It's not the calves but the length of the Achilles tendon. The longer it is the more energy can be stored.

    In athletics there is no greater test of explosiveness than the vertical jump. The #1 genetic factor in correlation to vertical jump performance is the length of the Achilles.

    Are you blind? Tyson's calves were comically small for his upper size. Even more considering he had short legs.

    Tyson-Holyfield was a battle of two hulky bodybuilders-type upper body coupled with chicken legs.

    WTF are you talking about Tyson had a high calf not a small calf. He had a big ass diamond calf at the top. You are confusing having a long tendon with having small calves.

    Big calves, no.
    Strong calves, yes.

    Just realize, there's no ONE body part that gives you punching power.
    So don't hyperfocus on strenghening calves. Focus on being strong all over.
