Exactly. The reality is they are there & it's better for the overall integrity of the sport if the champ holds them.:good
Ther only there for money-making , and to make fringe-boxing fans think they are watching a bout for THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD , the only thing they do in boxing terms is make it easier for guys to become 'world champion' , and mess up history . Alphabet titles also mean that rival titlists can duck each other and deprive the real fans of 2 atgs fighting , whereas , in the old days if a guy wanted to be champ , there was only one way to do it
Part of what hurt boxing is how much control the ABCs have had. This has changed now as HBO and others quit acknowledging them, and these days the TV networks carry all the power. A championship fight means nothing financially if TV doesn't support. Conversely, a non-title fight (such as several of Pacquiao's) are huge money-makers with the proper promotion and support.
LOL.... I like that! I had 5 out 6 lottery numbers a few years back, so I guess I can send back the £3,000 and upgrade it to the £2.5 Million Do you write for Meatloaf?
