Does having religious faith give you an edge in boxing?

    One of the daftest things i remember seeing in a boxing ring was alex arthurs trainer bollocking him for nicky cook taking over and all i remember was arthur saying "dont worry god will help me" ...or something to that effect

    Atheist boxers are like atheist rappers - rare. Probably that atheists dont feel the need to bang on about it as some religious types do.

    The only one I know of is Carl Froch

    Whatever ya think of Pac, u ('n the contradictions in his life), I've known him for many years 'n his faith is genuine.

    Bieng an athiest boxer and hearing a dumb ass saying god will be on his side in a fight would fill me with confidence.

    Some peeps use god some peeps use fat gay friend. Has long as the boxing brain is happy

    It gives them confidence, but sure as hell doesn't give them any physical edge in my opinion.

    I don't believe God puts one fighter over another because they claim to praise him, while on TV. We don't know what these people really do in their personal lives, so I can't take what they say on TV and believe it's 100% their personality. A fighter who doesn't put God in every sentence may show God more love than the person trying to be seen doing it.
