Does Haye even know he has a good shot here at Wlad??

He stands a better chance at beating Wlad and/or Vitali than anyone else in the division, imo. He really mustn't be confident in taking them. These newer heavies need that attitude Tyson had. "How dare these mortals..." blah blah blah. Etc.

very true. the same applies to Povetkin. IMO there is no shame in loosing one good fight while giving your best. actually right now there are quite a number of possible interesting matchups at HW. very sad they don't happen :verysad

Problem is Haye has exactly the same risk-minimization attitude like the rest of the HW contenders.

 

I guess he doesn't want to hurt his earning potential. Good thing is that said potential goes down with every fight he picks that isn't one of these guys.

 

It's a shame because he was very much known for being a risk taker when he fought at cruiser. His reputation amongst boxing fans has nose dived in the past few years.

 

Like some others have said, Haye's holding out for when he can get the best payday. Right now he's got a percentage going to Sauerland. When his contract with them is over, which I think is after one or two more fights, he'll be able to rake in more dough for himself. He's doing the smart thing financially, but it's costing him credibility at the moment.

Frankly though, I don't fancy his chances that much. If you're going to be a real threat to Wlad, you're going to have to take some punishment. Haye can punch, but his chin will not hold up.

He will take the fight, on his terms when he wants, its not far off now, i think we will definitely be seeing some Wlad bashing time from Haye next year. :bbb
