Exactly! Williams stated Tyson hit him harder than Vitali did. Williams eyes went into seperate orbits when Tyson hit him - Danny was holding on for dear life & this helped him get through the round. If Williams didn't know how to hold, to survive, I doubt he would have got through. Haye hits very hard, but there's no way Haye-Williams in sparring would be an all out affair. Too risky, too dangerous, etc. A peak Tyson was a harder & faster puncher than Haye is.
The last three rds can make a huge difference in certain fights, for example: Ali-Frazier I SRL-Hagler (even SRL said he would have lost if it was 15 vs 12, that is why he paid 1 MIllion dollars to Hagler to go 12) Chavez-Taylor Trinidad-DLH Tucker-Tate I don't think that RJJ was ever really pushed to his limit. I don't think he hit as hard as SRR, and he had a very hard time with LaMotta. Basillio was really a jr middle, he had to kill himself to make 47. Smaller than most 60lbers, however a very rough guy over the distance. Watch the Fullmer, DeMarco, and SRR fights. I do think RJJ was a great fighter, but I think the way he was KO'ed, and considering the level of his competition raises serious doubts in my mind. I just never have drank the RJJ Kool-aid. Sorry.
Yes, and he was overwgt, and over the hill at that time. Now to name the guys he lost to, thats easy: Bramble X2 Arguello Haugen Camacho If you add up all the guys he beat, they have almost 200 losses between them? He could beat Hatton? Please!
