I know he's nowhere near Ali's league but can't deny Haye is very fast. I'm not exactly sure how fast Ali was in his prime - so for those who do know, does it compare?

No, mainly due to him loading up and Ali being freakishly fast

Check the hand speed in some of the combos he was throwing vs Cleveland Williams

Just a general question, dude. I really like this forum but the amount of negativity/"trolling" on it is mind blowing

Haye is fast no doubt..but Ali had better reflex's and was quicker on his feet.he also put his punches together better and faster.Hard to compare cause haye really just loads up on his shots

Yes, maybe? BUT it would be like So What?

It would be like Judah-Mayweather: When they fought, Judah was thought to be the bigger(look, listen to the fight), faster(still said to be faster) fighter.

But what did it ultimately mean(when they fought)? JACK!

Ali was just a freak, even when his legs slowed down he still had ridiculous handspeed and was still the fastest in the 70's.

Probably equal in single punches, Haye can't throw combo's though, Ali was faster throwing combo's and far, FAR more accurate.

The Ali fans remember vs C Williams was a small HW by todays standards, near Haye's recent fighting wt.

I think Haye does compare to Ali in hand speed although not as good a combo puncher. OTOH Haye is a bigger puncher than Ali ever was. Lastly, and I criticize Haye, but H2H he is near* Ali's league. Not saying DH would win, but Haye would be one of the most dangerous opponents Ali has ever faced.

    * not in their respective eras, but 1970s Ali vs 2010s Haye in a time machine.

No. Ali had faster hands and threw blistering combinations.

:rofl:rofl Haye is flat footed has terrible condition prime Ali could throw all night, Ali could just dance around him for 6 rounds and Haye would be tired, no way Haye has a chance of hearing the final bell against Ali because of his poor conditioning, Ali stops him in 9th if not sooner, and since Ali took those bombs from Shavers Haye has no chance at all, Ali would outsmart him outjab him dance around him and then stopped him because unlike Wlad Ali had no problem getting hit so he would go for the kill and even with not so great punch power accumulation of punches landed and Hayes exhaustion leads to KO win for Ali!

    David Haye is fast.

But even Evander Holyfield was faster than David Haye, both hand speed and foot speed.

Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson "Hand faster hand speed".

Not many Heavyweights in history are faster than David Haye overall.

Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield! are in my opinion.

    Haye throws single punches.

    Ali had fast combos.

    Ali was definetly faster.
