This. Khan has the heart, but no chin. Brook has a solid chin, but no heart.

As much fun as I've made of Khan and his embarrassing mandible, and that's plenty, his heart has pulled him through or came close on a few occasions, it was through sheer force of will that he hung in there against Maidana, someone with less heart would have buckled and given in and lost by TKO, and the amount of heart he showed against Garcia was impressive as well. With Khan, it depends on how big the puncher is, with someone like Canelo, he never had a chance, but that being said, Canelo would KO most Light Welterweights cold, but if he doesn't get KO'd cold, he'll try his absolute damnedest to fight through it.

Having a big heart doesn’t make you more punch resistant.

How “chinny” a fighter may be is a completely physical side to his game.

Chin is physiology, not much one can do to change that.

Think of it like a fighting game.

Your hp health point bar is how many hits you can take before getting KOed. This bar doesnt recover and once its gone, the fight is over.

The ex meter at the bottom is your stamina. Stamina you build up in the gym by running, shadow boxing, hitting the bag, jump rope, etc. Just like in a fighting game, if you lose meter you can slowly recover it but not right away. The recovery time depends on your endurance. Meter depletes with every punch thrown and drains even faster if you miss a punch.

Heart is like a recovery/boost item that gets your head back in the game. Like a potion in a fantasy game or a perk in a shooting game. It wont prevent a knockout, but it can delay it. This is usually due to an adrenaline rush. The fighter either has it or he doesnt, heart is an x factor the trainer cant really do much to develop. Keep in mind heart still wont PREVENT a knockout, it can only stall. Weve seem plenty of brave fighters who refused to stay down but get stopped at some point anyway (frazier vs foreman, wladmir vs joshua, etc).

Actually the better thread would be:

    "Does heart = recovery"?

    This opinion is terribly inaccurate.
Many a fighter has been knocked down without being hurt while many fighters were hurt bad while staying upright.

Yeah, this is one of those subjects where it’s not opinion based. It is a fact.

Eye socket destroyed by GGG but still wants to fight Spence?

Other eye socket destroyed by Spence, but wants rematch at 154, Charlo and Khan?

European fighters have plenty of heart.

Yup, I will say there's nothing I can read on here and still be shocked. The level of fan boxing attracks Is a whole new level of trolls. I honestly believe posters compete with each other to see who can successfully argue the dumbest and most impossible point of view.
