Who else is dissapointed with the way the heavies are conditioning themselves these days? Wasn't like this before was it? (well not from what I remember)

alot of it is due to the fact that cruiserwieght takes alot of the fitness freaks out. in the good old days most fighters wernt even over 200 pounds in fighting shape...that says alot.

all in the top 10 are incredibly big men. even david haye is a decent hieght and weigth ofr the division.

It's the overweight division now, there very few in decent shape out there and even those have serious stamina issues.

They should add an upper limit of 225-230 pounds.

After that can come the Freak and Fattyweight division.

People bang on about the 80's but looking back I can't remember too many fat ****s fighting back then, certainly not at the top level. The only one that sticks out is Tony Tubbs but fat as he was he had good stamina and could do 12-15 rounds no problem. Very skilled fighter too, I think he won the first round against Tyson when they fought so therefore won the event.

I don't know. Austin, Tony Thompson, Brock all seemed in pretty good shape. Austin and Thompson were 6foot 6 inch monsters but while not being cut up like Wlad were in pretty good shape; no spare tire or anything. Haye, like Wlad is a walking modern day Adonis and Vitali is always in great shape. Arreola is a fat boy but he seems to be kicking ass so maybe he can carry the weight and still be effective. The heavyweight division will never rival lighter divisions for pure athleticism or conditioning. These are huge guys afterall and they bring what the crowds have always wanted going back to ancient Greece; awesome strength and raw punching power.

Tubbs was a very good boxer, gave prime Witherspoon hell despite being overweight and coked up to the eyeballs. Think he pushed Bowe to the limit too, many people had Tubbs winning that fight, he had great skills. If he were around now he'd be a serious threat to the current jokes, I suspect he'd make VITLAY quit anyway.

almost every heavy seems to be carrying some baggage your right, one of reasons its in the state its in, no coincidence the klits are the most conditioned heavys and ruling the division

When your a heavyweight there's no discipline.

You don't have a weight limit to abide with so it's down to personally fighter discipline.

Don't let the up and coming Solis, Arreola, Chambers type undisciplined fighters tarnish the professional conditioning of Wlad, Vitali, Haye, and even older disciplined fighters like McCall, Holyfield.....and even Thompson, Austin, Gomez, Valuev, and others who are in good shape.

A handful of obese fighters don't mean the entire division is like that. Come on, now.......Let's not paint th division with one big broad brush....

I'm really disappointed by the very low dedication the heavyweights show ! I don't think too many of them spend time doing cardio and endurance workouts.... It's a shame, because that could very well make a huge difference for many of them !!
