Does Helenius have a soft body??

    I'm not impresed by his fitness level

    altough he did show up looking a lot better in the Peter fight. i dont expect him to be a Wlad/Vitali, but a fighter needs to be in peak shape to be a WC.

    will he show up in better condition aggainst Liakhovich??

    Yeah but he beat big muscle guys like Lame-man Brewster and Sam Peters. It appears not to effect him.

    Its not a beauty contest. Helenius is about to beat his third former titlist, and has chosn pretty tough comp in general. Get on board.

    He had a lot of trouble against Peter, until Peter ran out of gas.



    Boxers wrestle a lot during fights. he needs a stronger body to be competitive

    It was only his 15th fight. Good developmental fight.

    These soft pudgey guys amaze me, how they can put eating the wrong foods ahead of hteir career, and making possible millions of dollars and possibly fighting for a world title and becoming a big name and having all the bells and whistles that come with being a known world champion.

    Granted, Helenius is doing well as soft and unimpressive as he looks, but if he were lean, and were to replace some of that excess body fat with a bit more muscle (not alot, but a BIT more muscle), think how his power and conditioning would be improved.

    These guys don't seem to care about their potential. Or else, they are oblivious to proper eating and training, and don't have a trainer with balls enough to get them to buckle down and do it right.

    But as forceful as a trainer may be, the fighter has to practice proper eating (or not eating) when the trainer is not around. I think that is the situation with guys like Arreola: No self discipline and they revert back to whatever, when noone is around to browbeat him.

    He is wildly overrated! The guy will never be able to fight at a brisk pace for an entire fight and has glaring flaws that will get exploited by any reasonably technical boxer.

    Tyson Fury would outbox/work him right now.

    You can't tell me that this guy would not benefit from getting himself conditioned and developed like a pro athlete.

    ^ Notice the WBO Belt in the picture. It is a WBO "Super" World title. I thought only the WBA had Super World Titles?

    its just how some are built, Tyson Fury is another one

    SO you mean to say that Fury or Helenius would not see an increase in stamina and punching power, if they were to lose all that excess flab and put on a *a bit* more muscle mass?

    Certainly, they would.

    And before someone posts another photo of Thomas Hearns to show that power is not all equated to muscle mass, the amount of muscular development does make a difference in how much power the body can generate.



    Leverage and technique also play a role, certainly, but muscle is the very basis of power. Power comes from the core body's strength, first and foremost. Technique then builds upon THAT.
