Roughly:
Ali's best wins (not performances):
Doug Jones
Henry Cooper (2x)
Sonny Liston (2x)
Floyd Patterson (2x)
George Chuvalo (2x)
Karl Mildenberger
Cleveland Williams
Ernie Terrell
Zora Folley
Jerry Quarry (2x)
Oscar Bonavena
Jimmy Ellis
Buster Mathis
Bob Foster
Joe Bugner (2x)
Ken Norton (2x)
Joe Frazier (2x)
George Foreman
Ron Lyle
(I will not count Jimmy Young)
Earnie Shavers
Leon Spinks

Now Evander's best wins (at hw):
Tillis
Thomas
Dokes
Stewart (2x)
Douglas
Foreman
Cooper
Holmes
Bowe
Mercer
Tyson (2x)
Moorer
Ruiz
Rahman

Evander has a lot of good supporting wins (as does Ali), and of course, Evander did have his time at cruiserweight, which doesn't count here. Writing it out, I would say Evander's falls short of being as high as Ali's, but Evander, like Ali, did face almost every notable fighter of his time.

I will agree with that. In his prime, Louis was nearly unbeatable, and Evander was beatable (with difficulty). However, I can't fathom how you think that the Burn of the Month club fighters could even come close to rivaling the greatness of Bowe, Moorer, Mercer, and Tyson, and even the older versions of Dokes, Foreman, and Holmes.
Louis beat Schmeling, Carnera, Baer, Sharkey and Walcott. Unless you count belt holders (who were never real champions), this is not true.
I forgot Sharkey, good catch. Louis defeated 6 world champions in total to Evander's 10 (I think). Of course, it depends on what you think of different sanctioning bodies. I have always thought equally of both the WBC and the WBA, if you don't, then I can see why you would think that Holyfield didn't beat 10 heavyweight world titlists. But all 10 were still great fighters even if you don't recognize a certain sanctioning body.
Louis faced something like over 30 ranked opponents, I don't believe that Holyfield is even close to that number.
I don't know all the rankings and everything as well as a lot of people. I know Evander beat a lot of ranked opponents ( I know Cooper was not top 10 when he squared off with Holy), and I would guess upwards of 20 or so, but I'm not sure. I know that in his prime, Louis beat only ranked opponents pretty much, so I'll take your word for it on the rankings.

I meant that Louis and Holmes dominated for longer than Holyfield, not that Louis and Holmes opponents dominated more than Holyfield's opponents.

Right. That certainly is impressive. What impresses me about Holyfield is how many times he continued to win world titles. One is really no better than the other imo.

If I was a 90s heavyweight, Evander would have ducked me. I would have had to come looking for him like "Evander where are ye??"

I'd pick Schmeling, Walcott, Baer and Sharkey over Bowe, Moorer, Dokea and Mercer. 40 years old Holmes and Foreman are not ATG scalps either. Tyson is a great win, but that's not enough.

that's cool with me, Schemling and Walcott were great, and Baer and Sharkey weren't too bad

Holfyield fans move his prime back to when he starts losing. So what is that, Ruiz, Lewis, or Moorer?. At the same time his opponents beaten that were past their best when Holyfield face them ( Holmes, Foreman, and Tyson ) seldom are spoken about being past their prime,

Hmmmm...

Which fight did Holy win off PED's?

BS. Ruiz won the first fight with Holfyield clearly. Would you like to score it? DO you want to look at the punch stats?

"The decision was controversial as many observers and boxing reporters felt that the underdog Ruiz had done enough to win. In interviews after the fight Ruiz said "It was highway robbery without a gun,... I won the fight and he knows I won the fight...I had control of the fight. I am very surprised by the judges' decision. I don't know what fight they saw." Showtime commentators described the decision as "absurd" and "ridiculous".
