What do you mean not including the Tyson fights? He was an underdog and beat Tyson pretty decisively in the first fight. That was a great win especially coming off a not so entertaining fight with Bobby.
Touche! All time from when fighters didn't fight with horse hair gloves and drink whiskey between rounds
Valuev was never "great" lol but that was an impressive performance on Holyfield's part. It's too bad the judges weren't watching that fight and came up with the scorecards the day before. Holyfield is a great example like you said of someone overcoming a weight disadvantage to achieve good things. He fought Lewis and made the rematch closer, beat Bowe the 2nd fight and ko'd Douglas. He even knocked down Bowe in the third fight.
Hes wouldve been in my Top 25 just, but i hate when fighters dont know when to call it a day and hes been fkin up his legacy for nearly the last decade.
Holyfield is certainly in the top ten of guys who have fought while ive been old enough to watch fights which would be from the early 80s onwards.I can understand guys who are older will have seen more fighters and see it different, those who are into the history of fights that go way back will also have other opinions.I like watching old fights on youtube but its hard to form an opinion of fighters from a few rounds of black and white footage so I go with the ones ive watched live and for me Holyfield is in the top 10 for sure.
