Joe beat Hopkins in America with an American ref and 3 American judges. Bernard would have to stop Joe in rematch to win, there is just no way he would get a decision in Wales and that just just aint gonna happen.

Had Hopkins come to fight instead of spoil and cheat last time and not been such a graceless ******* in defeat a rematch might well have happened. As it is there is no chance of it and no chance of him winning if it happened.

Maybe but there is even more call for a new fight with Dawson, say he beats Hop again, what does it prove, joe got slated for beatng a man in his 40s anyway. No point going over old ground with a fight thats impossible to sell to the public, except maybe to Hopkins fans...and Hopkins doesnt have that many...

There are more appealing fights for Joe to take at this stage. by appealing I mean better for his record and better for the viewer.

ok fella..point well made...but, the question is 'does hopkins deserve a rematch' not 'what should calzaghe do next'...you can very well say dawson deserves it more than hopkins...but thats not to say that hopkins DOESNT deserve the rematch..

    if that make sense :)

what does dawson have over b-hop?? b-hop beat tarver more convincingly and a younger more prime tarver at that and dawson barely got by johnson (i had johnson winning) whereas b-hop has a stoppage victory over johnson. Hopkins most recent win is a dominant win over pavlik the guy fans were clamouring joe to fight.Hopkins is owed that rematch

    The question isn't

"Would you like to see a rematch?" or "Would a rematch make a lot of money" or "Do you like Bhop?"

It asks if he DESERVES a rematch... And the only people who can say he doesn't are JC's hardcore fans. Period.

i like bhop, hes a funny guy and a good entertainer, but he has had a chance with Calzaghe and the first fight was boring and he cheated, i would like to see him fight at a level where he can compete so i can hear his classic stand up.

In a rematch Hopkins would make the correct adjustments and beat Joe, So joe won't grant him that rematch .. but hell yes course he deserves one

Of cause he does. It was a close desputed match that went to a split decision and warrants a rematch. He is never going to get one though.

Absolutely. Quality over quantity is why I think B-Hop should have won the first fight, he didn't throw as many punches but he threw the more effective ones, most of Calzaghes punches were hitting off Hopkins' arms. Someone else already mentioned it as well, but if you look at Joe in the replay before the decision is announced, its clear that he believes he's lost.

That's all just my opinion of course!:good
