Complete Bull****. WTF kind of reasoning is that? Because he's too old?

    More pitiful ****ing excuses!

I thought exactly that at the time as well - if I remember Enzo looked the same as well.

Personally I thought the fight was alright and it's nonsense saying oh he doesn't deserve a rematch because it wasn't fun to watch - that is not really what competitive boxing is about. It was a close match that should have been picked up again and a winner found more decisively - this should have been done before/instead of the Jones fraud of a fight.

As far as "oh Bernard cheated" goes - Calzaghe is on record stating he purposely low blowed 43yr old Hopkins to slow him down early on...

if that was the case rematches would never occur in the sport. It doesnt matter how old he is the question is does he deserve a rematch??

The last 10 seconds of the first fight says it all, the 10 second timer went and Hopkins attempted to hold Calzaghe for the entire 10 seconds, when Cortez broke them Calzaghe went for him throwing even after the bell - sums up the whole fight. Having said that I would love to see a rematch.

more twisted logic...its ten seconds it hardly tells a story for the whole 36 minutes thats about as twisted as someone basing there whole outlook on a fight from a few gifs

That fight was dull as hell and Calzaghe will never give him a re-match. Aside from the fact Calzaghe never gives re-matches, he also hates Hopkins and won't be looking to do him any favours by giving him another huge payday. And why should he get back into the ring with a fighter that was just looking to hold, feign low blows and use every trick possible to prevent any meaningful exchanges of punches.
Calzaghe-Kessler II would be a far better contest.

Of course! The fight was close enough. Unfortunately for Hopkins he shouldn't be first in line as the fight was a mess at times. Don't think many would want to watch a rematch anyway. No surprise, I'd rather see JC rematch Kessler. That would be a far more entertaining fight.

    No, in the second round...

“When I hit him there in the second round, that was proper deliberate. He’d knocked me down in the first so I had to give him a dig, didn’t I?”
