Why should Cal waste time on that spoiler?

    He's already clearly beaten him.

If Hopkins could have beaten Cal the first time, he would have. Now Cal is more comfortable with the weight and the fight would be in his backyard. Hopkins would lose worse this time.

He clearly lost the fight, faked injury and fought negative the entire time. So no, I don't think he does.

Hopkins lost to a white guy, get over it :rofl

Why would anyone want to watch Hopkins cheat, hold & act to delay the fight again?

    i dont beleive so

i do beleive he stereotype`s, but we all do that .

hopkins just is one of those men who will have a chip on his shoulder all his life about one thing or another.

my point was more to do with that in making it a

    usa v uk
    black v white
    good v bad

    etc etc
hopkins still only attracted 4,000 fans to a 20,000 venue.

also calzaghe`s and hopkins styles of boxing simply do not gell and will never ever make for a spectacle .

Hopkins does not deserve a rematch against Calzaghe. If Calzaghe changes his mind and chooses to fight him again it will be nothing more than a favor for Bernard and Bernard is not the type to ask for a favor. He's not the type to deserve one either.

Folk wisdom has always claimed that age makes us all more "conservative". Bernard's performance in that fight did much to prove that. He put Calzaghe down with a clean shot ...and then thought about options. One option was to jump on him before Joe's unfamiliar cobwebs cleared -stop him or at least hurt him and make Joe fight cautiously. The second option was to be cautious himself to conserve energy... he thought about the long term rather than take a risk. That is the old man's option and that is the one that Bernard took -to his everlasting regret. Bernard was worried about stamina and so let an opportunity pass him by. Big mistake.

Hopkins promised he will try and knock his opponents out from now on

I think he deserves a rematch, he is waaaaay better than RJJ is at the moment

I FEEL REALLY STRONGLY ABOUT THIS. I've watched the fight 4 times now and truly believe Bernard was dominated by Calzaghe in the later rounds and had Bernard figured out. Bernard carefully studies tapes of a fighter and establishes a gameplan...his gameplan worked for the first few rounds but Calzaghe is a special 'CREATIVE' fighter and always finds a way to win and adjusted accordingly (by throwing shorter quicker punches) Bernard wasn't used to fighting such a versatile fighter. He had to resort to cheating to contain Calzaghe.

Bernard does not derserve a rematch because of the following:

    1) The last bout was EXTREMELY boring to watch with Hopkins only tactic throwing a single right hand counterpunch then frantically grabbing afterwards.

    2) Hopkins is a dirty DISHONEST fighter. He feigns low-blows to get time to rest (he stated before the match that Calzaghe 'slaps' so why was he rolling around like a drama queen feigning agony from a TINY SLAP. Watch the replay it was above the crotch and was barely a tap no DOUBT. He also headbuts and is generally a dirty fighter. He does whatever it takes to win apart from actually fighting.

    3) Hopkins hit Calzaghe twice in the groin after the above incident behind the referees back. (Watch the replay)

    4) If Calzaghe rematches him it would be an UGLY, AWKWARD and ABOVE ALL BORING fight that would probably end with Calzaghe cut with an 'accidental' headbutt. Hopkins WOULD find a way to slow the fight or ruin the pace.

    5) I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that Calzaghe was on his way to a DOMINATING win when Hopkins slowed the pace and feigned the low blows. Hopkins dragged Calzaghe down so the punch appeared to land lower (WATCH THE REPLAY)

    6) How can a sport be considered a sport when it is there for all to see on film that someone is cheating and they still get considered a great fighter.

I can't see how anyone objective has BHop winning.

Watch the fight again, Calzaghe won by three clear rounds, despite Hopkins spoiling tactics, faking low blows etc.

you would say that because that's your opinion but the opinion of others might be that they dont see how you could score it for calzaghe it works both ways

NO. Hopkins stunk the joint out and ruined the fight. He fought like a bum only interested in surviving by going backwards faster than an Italian tank and holding at every opportunity.

maybe, other than dawson, there not alot of people out there. but calzaghe is smart. he knows that win, lose or draw, hes not going to look good against hopkins. last time out he got dropped, and looked bad, although hopkins looked worse.

Usually I would say yes, a champ that loses his belt to a challenger that wasn't KO'd or completely dominated should get a rematch, BUT... in this case he made that fight so ugly, boring, and frustrating to watch that he should be denied and we should all be spared from having to watch it again. IMO, it wasn't close like some like to make it seem. Calzaghe controlled the terms of the fight and Bernard held so he could never get too much momentum. He can't keep up with Joe and the only chance he has of beating him is catching with a perfect power shot, which is extremely unlikely.
