Hopkins has been a much more busier fighter since he moved up to LHW. He said that this is his more natural weight at this point in his career so he doesn't feel drained. And that he feels more powerful and energetic because he doesn't have to hold back. And the results have showed.

Wright is another guy who is incredibly active. People thought Wrights activity and jab would give Hopkins trouble. WRONG! Hopkins came out with a plan and completely neutralized Wright's jab by moving sideways all fight long and made him look like a C class fighter and not like the P4P fighter he was coming into the fight.

Yeah, i know everything is 20/20 in hindsight but there was a reason why Wright was the betting favorite. Only after the fact can we say that Wright was over his weight. I mean we all know he was but that doesn't mean people thought he was at a complete disadvantage. There was always the issue of Hopkins showing his age or Wright's defense, activity, jab, and southpaw stance giving Hopkins trouble.

Wright was a guy who hadn't lost a fight in 7.5 years and the fight he did lose to was against Vargas who most people felt he won.

Hmmmm I do give Hopkins the benefit of the doubt against wright. Winky is nowhere near as good as some people say he is but at the same time Hopkins did make him look f**kin awful , it was a whitewash.

However winky and joe have only their stance in common they couldnt be more different and Hopkins would not know what to do with Joe

And when Hopkins fought Tarver, no one gave him a chance. He was coming off of two losses to JT. People thought he was DONE! But now after the fact, people say Tarver was just a joke to begin with when in reality, he was universally recognized as the best LHW out there. Hopkins tends to make "great" fighters look ordinary.

He has degraded the reputation of Tarver and Wright. They can thank Hopkins for that. And this isn't something they wanted.

Again i kind of agree but Tarver is also overrated ( i know I know it sounds like being wise after the event ) but he's lazy he lacks guts and someone as mentally tough as Hopkins (can be!!!!) was always going to beat Tarver. You beast Tarver by standung up to him.

Of course he does. He's gonna jump in with his head out front and low, and a right hand over the top. And he'll do that for exactly 12 rounds.

I agree that his plan involves puting Joe down and making him look unworthy an opponent before ducking him by demanding a huge purse.

The reason Hopkins has to talk about Joe in the first place is because he CALLED JOE OUT when Joe was preparing to fight Kessler! Now that Joe has returned the favour, Hopkins needs to duck him without losing too much face...He could say he is an old man who is past it...and that would cut it with me...because he is...but he is too proud! Oh well...you cannot win 'em all!

I finally saw the Calzaghe-Kessler fight the other night, and while watching it, I actually said about halfway through, maybe in the later rounds, "you know, I think Bernard Hopkins could pick Calzaghe apart."

I had the same feeling when watching the fight.

People on this board are grossly underestimating just how versatile Hopkins actually is.
