Does it annoy anyone else that it's become mainstrem parlance now to call Floyd "The Best Ever"?

Not true !! How many "wins" did the Vegas judges give Floyd that he in no way deserved ???? How many times did the NSAC sweep Floyd's rule breaking under the carpet???? Remember IV gate ?? Really I think Floyd was a Chippendales reject who could run & dance but couldn't FIGHT!!!! They made him their cash cow & gullible casual fans fell for the spiel.

Definitely true. The only really controversial points decision was the Castillo one, what others do you think he lost on points? You obviously have never seen the judges scoring patterns for the Young, Lyle and Shavers fights- maybe you should educate yourself, they really are something to behold. Add the Norton and Jones decisions which most at ringside scored for Kenny and Doug (especially the former which caused a massive stink) and that’s some of collection of “controversies”.

Castillo beat him, Maidana beat him, Judah should have won by DQ, Ortiz should have won by DQ, Pacman should have been made a N/C due to Floyd's IV gate cheating. Dehydrated ??? ROFLMAO C'mon man

So two where he heard the final bell then? Like I said, Ali clearly had more debatable decisions.

Was Ali caught red handed receiving illegal excessive saline drip treatment in his own home 24 hours before a world title fight & did the State Commission cover his butt over it ?? No but Floyd was

Mike Tyson is the most recognisable face in the game.

George Foreman is the second most recognisable face in the game.

Tyson Fury, love him or hate him is third.

Compared to those three Fraud Mayweather doesn't even register.

Wake me up when there are more Tyson, Foreman, and Fury threads, then. Twenty years of dominance tends to stick with a hater's conscious.

You actually think that Floyd Mayweather is a bigger name in boxing than Mike Tyson?

    Really?

    Educate yourself.

Let's say Tyson is a bigger name; Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn't that far behind. You underrate the cultural impact he made during his time, as well as the generation of fighters that he has inspired (Broner, Tank, Haney, Stevenson, Teo, etc.). Hell, he had kids in the street practicing shoulder rolls. He became his own boss, essentially birthed the 24/7 genre, and revealed more of his world than Tyson -who was very private- ever did.

Tyson's reign was three years long. As great as he was for that short time, his legacy is more lore than substance.

Floyd was a great fighter but a lot of his career was smoke and mirrors. He ended up not caring so much about legacy and just wanted to protect his precious zero. He got cherry picking down to an art form which includes dirty tactics like weight draining and rehydration clauses. All these things that casuals don't really know about. At the end of the day Floyd can call himself whatever he likes as deep down he is a narcissistic miserable SOB so if calling himself TBE brings him some joy then good luck to him.

He's among the best in the sport of boxing, but he's not The Best Ever.
