Does it annoy you that Keith Thurman constantly refers to himself in 3rd person?

    In many of his interviews, I tend to hear him talk this way which I find gimmicky and annoying. He also has to mention One Time as a vocal point as well.

    Example...
    Thurman: Keith One Time Thurman is all about the belts. Keith One Time Thurman wants to unify.
    (After he beats an opponent) Thurman: this is what Keith One Time Thurman boxing all about.
    Thurman: Spence, if you want a piece of Keith One Time Thurman, u gotta talk to Al Haymon.
    Thurman: Danny Garcia is not a true welterweight champ unlike Keith One Time Thurman


    And etc...

    I always get a sense that when Cotto does it, he refers to Miguel Cotto, the fighter. I might be wrong but he sees himself as a family man, and not the fighter that everyone knows him as.
    He does have a huge ego, no denying.

    Christian #&@%$# usually hates it when people refer to themselves in third person. but for some reason when Keith One Time Thurman does it, Christian #&@%$# doesn't mind it at all. Maybe Christian #&@%$# is biased because Christian #&@%$# likes Keith One Time Thurman and chooses to conveniently ignore his shortcomings and character flaws.

    I think that this is close to the truth.

    Maybe these guys see themselves and their image as a packed product distinct from their "me".

    I'm betting that outside of boxing contexts they don't do it. I can almost guarantee that Cotto doesn't walk around the house saying "Miguel Cotto loves you baby" to his wife and "Miguel Cotto wants a sandwich" when he's hungry.

    It's pretty tounge in cheek and humorous a bit like when Fury does it. I don't think Keith takes himself that serious.

    :loel:This thread is hilarious. I hadn't really noticed before reading the op but he does do this all the time. Like others have mentioned I think Thurman is just so likeable that he gets a pass, still a lazy, bearded, beaded hippie though.

    Thurman gets a pass. Its funny when Floyd Jr insists that people don't call him Jr. He prefers Floyd Joy Mayweather lol
