To be honest I never thought of it as Ward tactics against Bute , more like a gift for Anthony Dirrell since he is friend with the brothers(or he is with Andre Dirrell only ? ).

There might be no tactics at all. But I remember how Wards team said Bute had to fight someone and it was looking like Froch in England, and now it looks like there is a possibility that it could be affected by Ward relinquishing a title he has just won and now with the WBA S/champ, regular and int champs, many hold the regular WBC title higher than the WBA, though they have diamond belts etc, but not in the SMW division

Also Bute probably won't fight Andre Dirrell since he is insisting to fight in US where he has not much of a fan-base. Bute will probably do more money fighting in Canada with an exciting and unpolished prospect like Stevenson.
It will be devastating tho for Bute's imagine if Froch changes his mind.

Yeah WBA is really ****ed up with Interim/Regular and SuperDuper Champions.
Maybe he just doesn't want to fight any of the Dirrells if they are family friends.

As long as Butes team are giving reasonable offers, I dont think you can blame Bute if his opponents back out.
As long as Bute keeps winning eventually the fights will come. I saw this happen with another top SMW and it all came good

Possibly not if they are that close. It did seem odd in the S6 when they were due to meet. I remember a date for the fight was given but no venue, neither in training etc, then Dirrell goes ill.
Ward could sit on his WBA S title and beat regular champ Balzsay and int champ Magee. Both would be fair wins

Thing is Beastside, I could see it going something like

Froch/Anthony Dirrell happens, Ward fights a tune up opponent then rematches Kessler and Bute is left on the outside without a top challenger. If that is to be the case really Bute needs to get his team to up the stakes desperately

They are already desperate ,since Bute is the champ and one of the two best draws in the SMW division and he's going to fight his challenger in his backyard(England).

A trainer once told me: "Bute is a scary opponent for anyone because he can box and he can punch something that it is very rarely seen, and because he is an amazing bodypuncher, one of the most effective punches in boxing probably next to the jab as importance. He can punch you in the solar plexus and leave you breathless, and believe me you when it happens you don't think about defense or anything else, your mind goes blank you gasp for air and you are not able to breath for a short moment in a sport that breathing is essential. Then there's the liver shot and when you get hit, you fall down, your legs give, you feel like puking and you experience excruciating pain.

The SuperSix has harmed Bute because all the participants have been hyped up so much that they don't need him. For example Ward is already called the best in the division without even fighting the second best. Froch was elevated to secon best fighter in the division and he still holds that position in some guys rankings even tho he lost to Kessler and was outclassed by Ward(Same happend to Kessler to but he did won against Froch)

Even Allan Green ffs who's at about JP Mendy's lvl was considered by some a worthy opponent.

Ward would fight Bute or Dirrell. If he's giving up his WBC title, it's cause he sees a better career option elsewhere. It's a career, people do what's best for it.

Why do you say Ward would fight Bute or Dirrell when Ward has said he doesnt want to fight Bute and wasnt in training camp when he had a fight date against Andre Dirrell.
What better career option do you think Ward has?

I have to agree. Ward just doesnt seem to want to fight Bute, which is a shame as it would make for a fantastic event. Its a fight that I think would have more atmosphere in Canada, the Bute shows look big business

Great post. The S6 hype was terribly misleading. The Ring were very bias in how they did their ratings to suit.
Alot of these ratings are so bias it becomes a joke.
I remember The Ring, how Ward beat Kessler and this bumped Bute to #1, as Bute overall had done more than Ward. Ward went to #2, yet when Ward beat (

) either Bika who Bute beat previously or Green who had done nothing at SMW, Ward got put above.
    It gets worse.
Froch lost to Kessler and then (

) Froch in his next fight beats Abraham coming off a loss and then Froch gets put straight above Kessler who beat him.

I always felt Froch and Ward were bumped up in the ratings so the Ring title could be contested, as I dont see how Froch beating Johnson who had lost more at SMW than won would bump Froch above Bute.
I dont see how Ward beating Bika/Green bumped him above Bute, though I would say with Wards wins over Kessler and Froch combined would put him above Bute, even though I feel Bute is the far better SMW and Ward doesnt seem to want to fight him

    Yes I do recall that.
B Magee was offered a place as a sub but turned it down. Just imagine if Ward beat Magee in a S6 bout, it would have been rated as a big win
