All it takes is impulse to make it to the pro ranks and discipline to train as hard or harder than your opponent, to move on with your career though and fight for a world title you will come across fighters who have a better reaction time than you and you trainer will have to be able to teach you to out think fighters who rely on great athleticism. Do fans agree with me on what it takes to be a pro fighter?
Depends on the individual and their own personal physical abilities and attributes. Its not a blanket statement scenario. Some fighters will need to be smart, others wont.
A lot are hands on learners. You have to be very strong mentally. Name a great Fighter who is dumb. Tank Davis is smarter than he looks.
Impossible to define isn’t it? Talent can be wasted, and dedication can reap rewards, the only thing they will all have in common is someone somewhere (probably the gym) belived in them.
its like in anything else in life, the more intelligent you are, the better you are at using everything else.
It takes a certain type of intelligence to be great. Being too intellectually gifted overall -- IMO -- is probably more a detriment than a strength. Ignorance is bliss, to be great you have to be almost or absolutely delusionally self confidwnt in yourself and you're abilities. Ive met MANY incredibly intellectually gifted people who couldnt get out of their own way and never lived up to their potential in whatever because of self-doubt and overthinking things too much. Look at Wladamir Klitschko, one of the most intelligent fighters outside the ring in the last 40-50 years probably, maybe even the most intelligent. But he didnt use it correctly and was his own worst enemy. Physically, his chin was never anywhere near as bad as people claimed IMO, he just became mentally shot as far as self confidence and doubted himself far too much. For a period, any clean punch that landed on him seemed to send him down, but it was so strange because you could tell he wasnt buzzed at all and you could literally see on his face the implosion going on inside his head. Military special operations always requires a certain type and level of intelligence from its recruits, but there is always a mental screen every recruit has to go through because a certain personality type is usually not as suitable as others, and they are usually very intelligent but highly reflective in a negative sort of way. For example guys that just cant move past a close call or traumatic incident and focus on what could have happened instead of moving on from it.
Everyone need a good IQ to execute a plan and be successful against other smart fighters. If your ring IQ is low you'll mostly only beat other low IQ fighters.
top fighters control their adrenaline response, if you can't do that then you will go nowhere as a fighter. thats why i think like 99.9% of people that train in boxing are wasting their time and shouldn't even bother.
Your threads are all ****, and this one is no different. You post like a paid admin troll. But I’m going to try to raise this thread from ****-level by letting Anatoly Lomachenko add some value to it. This content is protected
