does it tug at your heart a little bit when fighters lose?

    in the post-fight interviews?

Seeing katsidis say "im sorry australia, I tried my best"...damn, can't we all relate to that?

Boxing is a metaphor for life...sometimes we try our hardest, and even though everyone says that if we just try hard enough, we will succeed---as adults we learn that many times it just doesn't work out like that.

Another one was when Malignaggi lost to Cotto.. he said, "I just wanted to win so baaaaad" and he stuttered on that last word as his voice cracked.

In this sport, people put so much of their heart, mind, and soul, and I think we forget how difficult and how brutal this sport of ours truly is.

Absolutely. Especially with guys who are fighting for countries, or who have sick family members, etc. Fighters give so much of themselves, you can't help but feel bad sometimes.

yep. and that's why boxing fans are too sensitive when their fighter/s loss or get crirticisms. it's as if they feel the hardships and pain of the fighter/s themselves.

thats the beauty of this sport the drama so much is on the line....and its just one man against another, in team sports you lose it hurts but hey we have a season, another year, it wasnt our time etc.. everyone packs up goes home and it all starts again. In Boxing you are giving so much and your pride, health and self respect are on the line its just drama of the highest order.

yeah...like Foreman said, if you ask a fighter how many times theyve lost, they'll always say "never"
