Not entirely. IMO Usyk uses more head movement and is stronger defensively. Opetaia uses some of the similar skills but IMO he is a bit more talented offensively. Opetaia tends to use his lead hook and lead uppercut more often than Usyk does now a days. A younger Usyk is a different story, however. IMO Opetaia is slightly better offensively but significantly worse defensively. He does employ a somewhat similar skillset but Usyk has a bit more "bounce" and uses more feints. Not that Opetaia can't feint but Usyk does it a bit more.
It appears so He does the little hop hop thing Usyk does with his hands up then dashes into space and lands his shots. Honestly probably the best technique I've seen in boxing to beat an opponents jab from keeping you on the outside.
That`s not true, they both hold their lead hands out in front with their rear hands protecting their chins and bounce and feint their way in.
Both southpaws that use the pendulum at times but I think they are very different. Jai barely uses his jab unlike Usyk and he loads up on every shot, Usyk very rarely loads up until he’s sure he’s got you. For me Usyk is the more talented technical boxer, Jai has things you can’t teach though, he’s extremely athletic. Speed, power and reactions will take him a long way. Problem is Jai gets tagged a lot already so unless he significantly improves the technical aspects of his defence, once he ages and his physical attributes slow down it could be bad.
