Yes, as in, he probably has a better chance than everyone else in the world at 170. There are arguments that other guys have a better chance to win at 170 but everyone, EVERYONE is going to be a huge underdog against GSP from here on out until he loses or moves up in weight.

To be fair it was his first fight back at 170. On the positive side he only fought twice at 185 and once at 182, once at 175 in 2007 too.

Fighters usually get more used to making the cut properly after a few times; plus when he moved up it was because he couldn't get fights at 170, not because he needed to move up because he was having trouble making weight.

He looked awful though. Not just a bit off his game, but really awful. Gassing badly in a 3 round fight is a strong indication you should not be at the weight. He looked excellent vs Hendo. I think he should go up and hunt Anderson Silva.

Anderson Silva is a much better match up for him as well.

That's what I was thinking. GSP is all wrong for him. It will take a high level striker with insane TD defence to beat GSP. That ain't Shields.

anderson does not have great takedown defense either.

I think sheilds is better than gsp in pure grappling skills wise.

shields would have to pull off some sort of magic act to take gsp down and keep him down, round after round. I see this fight going to a decision.

Well if you think Shields is better in terms of pure grappling, if everything went right for him he wouldn't need to continually take him down, as he could get the finish on the ground.

I don't think he would, and I think he would have huge problems taking him down; but the question is "what should his gameplan be?"

Anderson's a Light Heavyweight dammit. Way too big for either GSP or Jake. Mismatch

If this fight comes off, I'm betting everything I own on GSP winning.

I don't think Shields can hold GSP down, if he gets him down. The fight will propably look like the Koscheck fight.

I could'nt get up for Kos round 2 so how am I supposed to get up for this ****?

I'd rather see a fight with Condit then a move to 185.

Why? As if Condit isn't going to get taken the **** down and pounded for 5 rounds, if he even makes it.

Game plan is simple--take him down and ground and pound his ass to a decision. Shields is stronger than most of gsp past opponent. Let's not forget shields was able to keep dan henderson on the ground who is much bigger than gsp.
