I'd rate Hagler above him on quality of opposition.. maybe. Faced some of the biggest bangers of his day. Toney's up there though.

Yeah, he has a legitimate claim to the best chin P4P of all time.

Though I think he did not take THAT much of a beating against Lebedev. Toney did close to nothing in that fight, he was weight-drained as f*ck and injured his knee in the second round, yet he was no stationary target - he still didn't take more than a couple punches flash per round. Still ducked and dodged most of Lebedevs power punches. He made Lebedev miss quite often, only he never made him pay for it, like he did earlier in his career. That said, it was an amazing display of the mans toughness to go the distance with Lebedev when he could have taken the easy way out no prob - there is no quit in Toney and Lebedev couldn't stop him.

James Toney - certainly one of the toughest, and, on his night, one of the most skilled fighters to ever lace em up.

But remember: Hagler never faced naturally much larger men, nor did he ever take one-sided punishment for 12 rounds like Toney now has.

Possibly, its too hard to say for sure... he`s probably up there with the Chuvalo`s, Lamotta`s, Chavez`s of the world.

No. Toney didn't get hit cleanly that much, and while he faced some powerful guys, I think you'd be hard pressed to say he had a better chin than Chuvalo or LaMotta, at a bare minimum.

Rahman was an NC because the fight was stopped due to an injury caused by an accidental butt. He was also nabbed for roids in the Batchelder fight, but the result stood because both fighters tested positive.

Ali also had a hell of a chin, later in his career I'd say it was his chin that cemented him being either the 1st or 2nd best heavyweight of all time. I doubt any other fighter could have survived the Foreman onslaught in Zaire. Those were brutual punches, although most of them were body shots.
