aside from the bad showing he also said he was done at 160...so i'm assuming wether or not he makes the weight, he's definately gonna struggle......

right now i would choose pavlik, but i aint gonna count lil chavez out...no way

agreed. their two styles make this a must watch fight. JCC trying to get inside to work the body, and KP coming forward as he always does. Problem is I see this ending similar to KP vs EM.

Are you kidding me? Chavez has terrible defence and doesn't move much... Kelly is a big hitter with great stamina. This will be an easy Pavlik win.... even if Kelly came in weight drained i would put down a considerable sum of money on him.

this is a bad stylistic matchup for jr no doubt, but i think he could overcome it and i dont think kelly is in the shape or fighting mentality to take it

maybe not, but if he can work together with roach and devise a good gameplan for pavlik(who isn't exactly a puzzle of a fighter) and execute it, he can win. There is obviously no comparison between him and maravilla

It sounds like your suggesting a transformation. He's his fathers son. He gonna come right at KP and try to pound the body.

If Pavlik is as washed up as I think he is, then Jr. takes this won in a battle.

Jr. looks hungry, and is fresher..He may lack the skills, but when your skilled opponent lacks the heart, or father time has just simply caught up, even a mediocre fighter can win.

It happens in boxing all the time.

first of all I never expected KP to defeat SM. I though he was all wrong for him stylistically. JCC is made to order flatfooted gonna come right at KP. That is exactly why I feel this kid is in a heap of trouble. JCC is is fathers son, he just doesnt have the power to take out a veteran with more championship experience like KP.

That doesn't mean that he can't do it more intelligently than he is now. More jabs to set things up, better head and foot movement, superior parrying and punch catching are all things jcc jr could easily do better imo

Agreed. But is this his first fight with Roach as a trainer? And if so do you think in his first fight after being trained by Roach, against a fighter who is a customed to being in wars, that he could pull off that detailed gameplan? KP is gonna be swinging for the fences to try to make an example of JCC. He already has stated he definitely wants a rematch with SM.

This would be his second. And it's really not a detailed gameplan, it's something any educated pressure fighter should be doing. ****, he was watching his dad do it properly for years

a gameplan is something specific to a fighter for a match. those behaviors are simply specific to the template for jcc's style.

people gotta realize Kelly is not the destroyer that shocked the world knocking out Taylor and dominating b level fighters. He is obviously on the downslide in every way where Jr is starting to look better. At this point even the much greener Jr who is 40+ fights fighting bums has a better defense than Kelly and Jr's jab is not much lessers than Kellys, it might even be better. I might give Kelly the advantage if they fight on the inside, but those cuts Kelly has will be his demise. I think Jr will be aware of Kelly's power and box him outside like he did with Duddy and do enough to outbox him, then Kelly lures him in and that's when it will be interesting. Kelly will have some moments, but at this stage I think Jr beats him to the punch. And I don't even like Chavez Jr, but I'm not sure if Kelly would of done any better vs. Duddy than Jr did. I dont think Jr fights like a bum anymore, but he's not close to being an elite yet.

Okay, I hope for JCC sake that Roach is gonna have him do just that, because I personally feel that this is a SCHEDULED EXECUTION.:vonnecunt
