Does Jean Pascal really stand a chance against Chad Dawson?

Pascal has a 72 inch reach

Has Pascal ever fought a southpaw? I know he hasn't on the world class level (and I'm not going to click on the profile of every can he fought earlier in his career), but that has to be a sizable advantage for Dawson.

 

Why is this fight in August, its not the kind of fight one can really build on as a promotor, and its not like a network will build much on it.

Dawson should fight inbetween, because this inactivity will not do him any good.

Nice post. I would add a couple of things though. Pascal is fast but not polished. He moves fast but his foot work is not accurate. The key will be how Chad Dawson reacts to Pascal when he flurries on him. I'm talking about combos of 12 shots. I have also some doubts about Dawson's heart. Pascal has to make the fight a war to test that intangible. Jean has some chances but is not the favourite.

 

The guy's tough for sure. Also wasnt he struggling to make weight when he fought froch hence him gassing in later rounds. We all know he can fight a dog fight and honestly thats him best chance. He has the athleticism to make it a fight but can be crude sometimes. Pascal is a stocky muscle bound guy who relies on explosiveness, whereas dawson is leaner taller guy who has speed

 

Pascal will be game and will make it interesting but at the end of the day he will be outclassed. Dawson is simply too much for him.

 

I know that. But how the hell can you duck a guy that were scheduled to fight?

 

Do you really doubt who would win between Dawson and Diaconu? It's pretty obvious who would win that fight. At the time Dawson had two choices, he could fight Tarver in America on Showtime, or he could go to Romania tp fight Diaconu(with no support from any American network) for the same amount of money. Tarver had the IBF belt as well. Anyone with a half a brain would've choosen the Tarver fight. Dawson was trying to have his cake and eat it too. Rest assured though, that Diaconu would stand no chance against Dawson.

 

After the Froch fight i consider myself a Pascal fan so will try and tune in, his injury recovery is a doubt but i think it will make for an entertaining boubt thought he is clearly the underdog in everyones eyes, including my own.

 

interested fight, i think dawson is good but just a bit overated. still think he has the better skillsets and will prolly win a decision here.
