Does Jennings have any chance against Cotto as it appears that almost everyone is giving him no chance whats so ever, saying it will be an easy night for cotto.

If jennings was to be able win the fight, at what part in the fight would be have to up his game? :think

The part where he enters the ring.

He needs to find some extra power to get Cotto's respect, a Pernell Whitaker defence to protect his body, and then maybe...just maybe he could pull out a decision since he has a good engine and Cotto lacks convincing 12 round stamina.

In short, it won't happen and it would be one of the biggest upsets since Buster-Tyson.

cheers. I hope he can pull of the upset would be good for british boxing for us to have a new world champion. beating a big name like cotto would be amazing also for peoples views on Jennings.

dunno. i feel jennings is far far more impressive than lockett. lockett just isnt a fully fledged 160 pounder. jennings is a solid and tall welter, has a good workrate and a bit of skill.

but cotto should be in a bad mood and want to prove somthing and if i was going to choose a ranked welter for my guy to beat it would be jennings.

i really like jenno, good honest pro, reasonably slick, nice to watch.but all at domestic/european/fringe level.
cotto being stopped by margarito did not surprise me one bit, margo has inhuman punch resistance, jenno was wobbled and hit often by minter,i am afraid it could prove to be a painful nights work for jenno.
this is a carbon copy of cotto v gomez for me....

There's every chance Cotto will take his time, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it go 8 rounds

But as for winning - no

Not unless the loss to Margy utterly ruined Cotto mentally. Which I doubt.

Jennings has to prey that Cotto is a beaten dishevvelled lump of the former fighter he used to be to even stand a remote chance.

    Truthfully Cotto takes him apart.

His height might cause a few problems, and I think he might even take a couple of rounds.

he'll be stopped mid-to-late in a reasonably competitive fight.

Jennings is a short quick puncher. His height won't be much of an issue because of the way he delivers his punches. What might cause probloms for Cotto is Jennings movement, workrate and fitness. I think the big difference will be Cottos power but Jennings is intelligent and game enough to survive any tough moments. Cotto takes his time but the quality of his work tends to catch all but the best off guard. Jennings' hand positioning too doesn't match up well. The best i'm hoping for is a game points loss which allows him to rebound strongly.

you don't think his gameplan will be to fight at range? I've seen jennings fight a few times, but i figured he would use a long jab in this one, cos otherwise his long torso is going to take a battering from one of the best body punchers around

Yes course he'll fight at range but you said his height would be a key factor. I think otherwise. He'll fight at range using movement and footspeed not a long jab.:good
