http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=408494 ^^ READ THIS THREAD GUYS These guys at HBO disgust me, they just call shot after shot after shot that doesn't land. Lampley's bias is disgusting. I said at the time and i'll say this again, if Lampley was on the radio commentating for Bradley-Pacquiao you would honestly think that Bradley had just been given the worst beating in history
the entire HBO team needs to go, and get some new guys in there. Just atrocious for many years now. Wish there was an option to disable their commentary.
Wont **** change, HBO will continue to promote what is in their best interest the only thing we can do is hope these sleepers continue to some how be over looked and matched with they HBO Products.
Imagine listening to Pacquiao-Bradley like it was a Radio broadcast. If you listened to Lampley, Bradley should have had a stretcher waiting for him ringside.
Kellerman called Eloy Perez a skilled world class fighter...He doesn't know a damn thing about boxing.
Lampley assuredly isn't doing this on his own. He has directive from the higher ups at HBO Sports to call for certain fighters and it works. Many people are influenced by his calling of a fight
Khan lands a few shots in the 4th and Lampley drops this "I said this fight was over, now Khan takes over" ...:rofl Kellerman was disgraceful as well, at the beginning of the 3rd he claimed Khan was giving Garcia a beating...atsch A beating is what Garcia did in the 4th. Lets not even get started with Lederman, people always diss Merchant, I do cause he is rude and disrespectful but atleast he doesn't cheerlead. :verysad
People need to understand that HBO may be catering to the majority demographic of their subscriber base. After all, they chose which fights they buy. Lampley brings to life the show customers may want to see. If you want to test this, watch a match with someone that doesn't follow or knows boxing and you will see how the commentary may get them 'into' the fight.
Agreed. HBO's commentary is always going to be bias as they are paid to be emotional and over the top to amp up excitement value and future PPV buys. Expecting neutral commentary here is not going to happen. Sometimes its fun, but if I'm watching a fight I care about I normally hit the mute button...
HBO needs to clean house. I thought the Manny commentating was bad but this was worse. They ignored all the work Garcia was doing to try to set the stage for a Khan whitewashing. They claimed Khan dominated the first round even though Garcia outworked Khan and landed the harder blows. Then they bring up those bs compubox numbers about Garcia only landing 6 shots but Khan landing 26!!. GTFOH. HBO is losing all their credibility.
