Does JMM loss to Mayweather effect his legacy and how he will be remembered?

When looking over JMM's record, to me Mayweather is the only fighter there that has without argument beaten him(fights with Pacquiao and John are debateable). With this in mind we all know of the circumstances surrounding that fight however, it is clear to all that Floyd did expose some weaknesses in his armoury.

Taking all that into consideration, will observers look back on his career differently solely on his first trip to 147 or is it completely irrelevant? Discuss....

No way should the farce against Mayweather have a major impact on JMM's legacy. He took the fight at significant physical advantages only to have Mayweather not even attempt to uphold his end of the bargain.

If anything, his willingness to take on such a huge challenge should add to his legacy. He has a combined 4, about to be 5, fights against Pac and Mayweather, they have a combined 0 against each other.

It shows that JMM has testicles the size of a HW.
He arguably beat the number #2 guy in the world 3x & stepped up to the #1 guy this era.
(Wish more fighters had his ambition)

No his legacy won't be affected.

He lost to one of, if not the best fighter of this generation.

Most boxing historians will remember the weight, and age of the two
