Your one of them painfull pricks that cant let anything go until u feel your on top. I'm sticking to my point your little heavy gets hammered by a naturally bigger more powerful man. Skill has a part to play quite obviously. Tyson fury knocks the shite out of any of the 70's lot....You happy ??? Cuss away

Lets go off what they weighed. If your introducing what they might weigh if thet were here today I don't want to know...its
Evander was more complete than Lennox, he just was outsized
    **** primo, hes an embarrassment
It don't matter whether Toney was more skilled or tougher, the mountains too big to conquer

I am not a big fan of the idea of creating a hypothetical Louis, who had the advantages of modern training.
    Too many unknowns.

What I am going to say, is that he would probably have had similar numbers to Povetkin, perhaps with less body fat.

Obviously their reach and heigth are still the same.

I am not arguing that the smaller fighters were better in these cases; I am just saying that they took a punch better.

Povetkin is shite mate. Pick someone else to compare stats too. Stick with the monster of men Holyfield!!! That boy whips every ****er who ever lived under 230. Slaps Louis a bout like a cheap dime store hood ;)

    Interesting that you think so.

If you took Holyfield, downgraded his chin a bit, and gave him the power of David Haye, you would basically have Louis.

That is what people are up against here.

Janitor, your making up a fighter here. Holyfield had better all round power than Haye, plus his core strength was monstrous compared to haye at heavy. One shot out of nowhere power i'd give to Haye i'd agree. Theres no way in the world Haye or Louis would come through what Holyfield could come through and get the win or be competitive still. The big men Holy fought imo would stop Louis. Could see Louis having a bit of joy with Bowe because he himself is flat footed and in range for a rumble. Lewis absolutely lays him out cold after a cautious couple of rounds. If weight, size hadn't become so apparent over the years and they were all roughly sized id have no probs going with louis but the size takes away most advantages as u know if they are competent themselves. Bowe and Lewis flatten Haye easy and early

And your one of those nauseating morons, who suffers attacks of childlike indignation, whenever their simple-minded ideas (in this case: "Big man beat little man") are politely challenged.

What do you mean "Cuss away"? It's you who has initiated the ad hominem; after I had already let it go. If this was ever about feeling I was "on top", I could have dispensed with this exchange several posts ago - mission accomplished.

    You ain't that bright... Pal.

    Get an education.

Quite a number of fans use weight solely as the measure of a boxer's size. Some, in turn, then take this to be an indicator of strength.

I don't know how Louis would do against today's HWs, and I don't care. For me he stands the test of time because he's still excellent to watch. His balance, leverage and composure in the ring is still a joy to behold for a boxing fan.

Either you take the current guys back in time and shrink them and take off muscle or you bring the old guys up to now and make them a little bigger or stronger. This "time machine" mess is unrealistic. If Anthony Joshua was born in 1905 he wouldnt be the same size and muscularture (sic) and if Louis was born in 1980 he would be taller, heavier and stronger. Thats why you have to judge guys by their era.
