He's got the punching power to beat anyone. Beterbiev should be too skilled though

He's a live dog. He punches hard and Beterbiev may be getting up there in age

I certainly hope so, and I'm not ruling it out. And for what it's worth, it does appear that Joe has the sturdier whiskers of the two. So if Browne and Deines can last as long as they did, so can Joe. Which could spell trouble for Artur.

I don’t think it would be considered an upset considering all the factors. Joe Smith Jr punch as hard if not harder than Beterbiev so all it takes is one shot to change things.

Definitely wouldn't be upset of the year. Beterbeast is aging now making the fight a tight one to call Smith is improving and Beterbeast is declining, at some point he will be there for the taking.

Why do people believe Joe Smith is this insanely hard puncher?

Is it because of the Hopkins KO?

I just don't see the power everyone creams their panties over. Sure he's got power, but I don't think he's a murderous puncher.

This will be more one sided than people think it will..I hope I'm wrong but my waters are telling me that.

He is heavy handed but he has long arms and no real inside game

If Beterbiev gets in close, mauls him and ragdolls him around the ropes and then tees off on his ribcage then it's a very painful night for Smith.

People think Beterbiev is a brutish headhunter but he has a lot of finesse to his game and is getting smarter too as he gets older.
His body attack is excellent and he ALWAYS pushes people back. On his backfoot he still has insane power too (see the Johnson KO or Prieto knockdown).

Smith will have to catch Beterbiev with something very hard and very early to make him hesistant coming fowards. If he fails that, you're going to see the same Smith that sucked against Bivol and Vlasov - someone without a Plan B.
