He was very ineffective against Bivol, so no. He doesn't even have puncher's chance in my opinion.

Of course Smith has a chance, Beterbiev is getting to a point where age is a serious consideration and Joe may have the best chin in the division along with heavy power. There could be fireworks early in this one as neither man backs up and won't have to look for the other so who will take a step back first? That said Artur in my mind is the clear favorite but not hugely so, I'm going to see what the odds are for this fight on fight night and if they're favorable I'll place a bet on Joe by KO.

It wouldn't be the upset of the year Joe Smith Jr has legit one shot ko power so he's never out of a fight. He's dangerous.

You going to move to Cleveland and watch Watson play for a real team?

That seems a bit exaggerative. I'm sure when the betting odds come out the bookmakers will have Beterbiev installed as the fave, but I'm not expecting to see JSJ more than a 4/1 underdog or anything.

No but I'm looking forward to seeing how good the browns can be with Watson.

Smith has improved and is smack bang in the midst of his prime and Beterbiev is 37 and past his.

Both are very physically strong and hit extremely hard, but I believe Beterbiev is the harder puncher of the two and I base that off of the amount of clean flush shots I've seen Smith crack his opponents with in some of his fights. Even though he's not typically a one punch guy I don't think I've ever seen Beterbiev crack anyone with that amount of clean flush bombs before. But there are different types of power and Smith has either badly hurt, dropped, stopped or KO'd every single one of his opponents since moving up to the world level which few can boast (Beterbiev being one of the few others who has too) and I think the same applies to almost everyone he fought prior to then too.

They both have superb engines and are tough but Beterbiev is the better technician of the two and holds the skill edge. But Smith can throw bombs and maintain a crazy pace from first to last bell doing so and he's never been dropped. I favour Beterbiev via stoppage but Smith is going to be super dangerous throughout.

If that ends up being the upset of the year then this year will have seriously lacked drama

    The hungriest man will win
    War of attrition.

i hope the GGG vs Canelo fight 3 falls through
& the winner of Joe smith vs Beterbiev fights the winner of Canelo vs Bivol for undisputed.

Honestly, I don't think it would be thay big of an upset. When you have a puncher like him, it never really is.
