No he wasn't, his legs were clearly gone, when the ref stopped it he couldn't stand still.

As far as I know, Jones is planning to retire and I'm glad he is. He should have retired years ago.

    Agreed.

  4. He's obviously fighting for money though at this stage. If the Calzaghe loss wasn't enough to make him retire, there no reason why he might not reflect on what happened and ask Green for a rematch. Or, fight Bernard Hopkins.

    What Scar said.

Watch when Roy is actually able to tie Danny up after the knockdown - when the ref breaks them up and Roy backs up against the ropes, his legs are completely GONE.

And Roy DID say he was going to retire in the post fight interview, so let's hope that's true and all efforts of B Hop to get him into another fight don't work.

He should retire, but I don't think anyone would mind seeing him fight one last time against Hopkins or Green.

no he was trying in vein to survive, just because he was presenting a closed guard doent mean ****. he was eating uppercuts and big shots to the body after the KD. he was still staggering after the ref broke them up after the KD. i suggest you watch the fight again....

I agree that his legs were gone, however he was leaning on the ropes, like usual and he had his gloves up blocking his face. Most of Greens punches after the knock-down were hitting RJJs gloves, we'll never know if Jones was going to get his legs back before actually getting KO'd instead of the TKO stoppage while he was still standing!

I think it goes without saying that he would have lost anyway.

I agree, it shouldn't have been stopped until he was lifeless on the canvas, legs twitching and bleeding from the ears.

    Jesus.

Most likely, yes...I just prefer it to be because he couldn't get up...that's all. I'm a huge Jones fan, but I respect the win for Green. He did what he needed to do.

In America Danny Green was either unknown or heard of, but not respected as an actual contender to fight RJJ, never mind beat him! Danny Green is now known and proved himself as an aggressive fighter...I would definitely want to see them fight again...even if Green wins again, I would really like to see them, at least go a few rounds...the first fight was too quick to enjoy...even if your a Green fan.

    Absolutely.
If they offer him a fight what is he supposed to say?
That's Mo Money!, Mo Money! Mo Money!
(It's all about building his account since/after Ruiz fight)
