A common way to conceptualize punching power is to distinguish between hard punchers and heavy punchers. Hard punchers hurt the point of impact very acutely, and when hitting you on the button, can put your lights out. Heavy punchers move you and cause a huge impact around the area they hit no matter where they land. Maidana seems like a heavy puncher who can hurt you no matter where he hits, even if he's not punching with tremendous form or speed or accuracy. Judah, however, can hurt you in the acute spot he lands on, but a shot to the chin prove deadly. As a hard puncher (rather than heavy), I think Judah's speed and the angles he counters from make for shots that count just as much as Maidana's bombs in damage done, when they hit the right spot.
Judah hits hard... but Maidana is a different beast, he hits like a truck and he's a seek and destroy type fighter!
Judah in my eyes has better explosie one shot power and can change a fight with his quick accurate hands Maidana will grind you down over time
Judah is way faster than Maidana. He also has better technic, better accuracy, and more variety. Judah with a better boxing brain and a lot more emotional stability would be damn near unbeatable. He's that talented. His problems are mental and emotional.
Probably -- look at Jermain Taylor. He always had a tough time settling down; always wound up tight, and had stamina issues. I'm sure there's a connecton.
Judah probably has the hardest one shot power at 140, problem is he is very limited in how he can deliver it, from a winding left, usually the uppercut and he likes to counter mostly and is not all that aggressive now. Maidaina is a wild man, his power shots are more unpredictable, even if he does telegraph them, and he hunts down opponents. Both are dangerous for khan given his susceptible chin
Harder! Miadana's one shot power isnt as good. Plus Zab hits faster and it's the punch you don't see coming that hurts the most. Just remember his one shot KO of mabuza, do you think maidana could have done that.
Harder?? Maybe not but more accurate, yes. Speed equals power. Lets face it if Maidana didn't punch with his 2 feet off the ground he would have killed Khan. His punching technique is awful where as Judah's is spot on.
Judah is a sharper puncher and mixes speed and power brilliantly. Maidana is slow and cumbersome, though powerful, and bashes opponents up. Make no mistake - Judah can hurt Amir BADLY!
