That was because his knee gave out, not his chin.

I'm not referring to the Raphael Butler knockdown. Buckling under Walker's body-shot had nothing to do with his knee and the Rahman fight being called off again.

hios chin hasnt give out because there is no big hitters out there and out of the 3 or 4 people who actually had good ko records, they are under achievers at knocking out world class people....
sam peter- tell me one ranked guy he has blasted out? he couldnt even stop a fat middleweight in toney
kirk johnson could pop...hes just never popped out any one worth a ****.....
lewis- at 38 and out of shape- tore his face up before he had a chance to finish him ....
and thats about it...if you want to grasp for straws
you can throw in danny williams and corrie sanders...but they are hardly known as chin checkers
vitali opponents are pretty bad if you look at the last 10 years...and before that are laughable....

Kevin Johnson doesn't even hit hard, he was only impressive against Devin Vargas because Vargas took the fight on one week's notice.

Johnson is a slick boxer but I think Vitali's punch rate will be too much for him. A prime Chris Byrd had to do everything humanly possible to avoid getting hit and he was still losing the fight until it was stopped on a freak punch to the armpit.

The way to beat the Klitschkos is not to box them from the outside but to barrel in and attack them where they cannot counter easily. Nobody has figured that out yet which is very strange to me.

No doubt coming in on a week's notice is a handicap but you honestly think Vargas with 1 year's notice would beat Johnson?

If by "broke him down" you mean "had his glove laces scrape Vitali face and then used his head and dreadlocks to open up Vitali's cuts," I totally agree -- Lewis definitely broke Vitali down. And he did so in between losing 4 out of 6 rounds and getting lit up like a British/Jamaican/Canadian Christmas tree. I also think Vitali broke Lewis' nose.

Vitali has never had a cut(s) like that in any other fight, just as he has never tore a rotator cuff in any other fight. In those two fights, his only losses, his body broke down -- whether because of his own efforts (Byrd) or the efforts/luck of the fighter he was facing (Lewis).

It's like Jones vs Calzaghe. Roy has never been cut like that against anyone else. I mean, sure, Joe caused the cut but it's not like he did so with some incredible power punch.

Similar thing with Lewis and Vitali.

Lewis knew it, too, which is why he retired after lying to Vitali about giving him a rematch.

Enough with the sorry ass "Lewis laced/rubbed with his dreads/headbutted" bull****. People who say this obviously didn't pay attention to the HBO slowmo replay CLEARLY showing a flush overhand right slamming right into Vital's left eye AND opening a cut. This **** is over like it was back in 2003.

And it has nothing to do with Klitschko-Johnson. On that topic this looks to be a mismatch but stranger things have happened.

  11. Just more fodder for the hapless heavyweight div. I'd give Johnson a chance if he was able to use an aluminum bat.

Yeah but Paula is a sore looser, he can't cope with the truth. Vitaly fought well but Lewis destroyed his face and got the win fair and square.

Fat out of shape lewis was also a bad mother****er and a far far better fighter than Johnson.

What? George Foreman would have a puncher's chance against a brick wall, man.
