i think it's a combination of hype, cockiness, and the fact the west is at war against extremist religious nutters. and a large chunk of those enemies are from pakistan. same thing happened during world war 2 when germans and japs were hated. i know my grandparents generation have some resentments to the italians for example when they were on hitler's side. it's not uncommon during wartime. afterall when the local boys/gals get killed overseas it creates friction etc. check the history books. you can pick almost any conflict to see the same patterns. i suppose that is just the dark side of multiculturalism, AND it works both ways so nobody should be finger pointing!
What are you talking about? Daily Mail hyped him more than anyone... you think they're liberal? What about news stations like FOX News? Is that liberal? The Times.. is that liberal? You think he got a head start because of his race, then (by your own admission) why can I count the number of Asian sportsmen on one hand?
OMG u cant even spell S-I-K-H right and then you say its an easy mistake to make. How the **** is it? Dont go around shouting your mouth acting like you know what your talking about when you know **** all.
so post something you mean that puts yourself on the line - let the online persona and cheap shots go for a moment.
My thoughts? He was an over protected over hyped fighter with a Glass Jaw as bad as I have ever seen. Stop with this religion BS.
Extra grief, yes. But to be honest non-boxing fans seem to like Khan. Fight fans have issues with him due to him taking easy fights and being hyped up like he's the next Sugar Ray. All mouth and no substance doesn't wash with boxing fans, especially Brit boxing fans.
Khan GETS hype BECAUSE he's a Muslim, and the indirect association people make with Hamed because of it.
thats not exactly true. frank warren knows he'll be on a cashcow if he can keep his charge undefeated. he appeals to the 'beercan fan' who will jump on the bandwagon. i agree, real boxing fans won't buy it to a point, but if a guy keeps winning nationalism (with any fighter in any country) takes over and people are influenced by the opinion around them for the most part.
What, i dont know **** all? I was only asking in this thread, not accusing. I just wondered what other people thought about it. Im a bit wound up, i dont know if you watched the fight on justin.tv but there were some complete racist dickheads on the chat room displayed next to the fight and then on here there are a few who bring race into it when it is irrelevant. All im asking is if its purely that he's arrogrant that people dont like him or is it possibly the resent him due to race, im just askin what people think about that.
Hmm... Well, there's no comparison offensively between Khan and Hamed, so I will differ there slightly.
