Ortiz didn't apply his jab and establish it, look as he puts Maidana down and Maidana gets back up he runs over, It was simply a immature performance from Ortiz in a fight he could of won. He ends up throwing a Zelenoff as soon as going gets tough and gives up. He could of won fight but the lads head is all over place in that fight.

I feel that sometimes Amir Khan does not get enough from anyone about his boxing brain...:yep His feet are a fantastic part of his defensive strategy and his fast hands are the key to his offensive style...:yep

With the fine tuning in the Wild Card, quality sparring and now that Amir is over the pond and living the life, that is what is making all the difference...:yep

 

He's faster than Ortiz, he moves better. Punches harder? I don't think so but its not always as simplistic as to say A punches harder than B therefore he can take the punches. There are many factors that can make a difference in how much a fighter is hurt by a punch.

I personally feel confident in terms of style that Khan wins...but there's a reason why this fight is interesting and that's his chin. If he has a solid chin like a Bradley (who only gets put down when off balance). We would be all pretty much as one in saying Khan wins...but the Chin..just doesn't breed confidence.

 

Tbh - Khan is superior to Ortiz in this sport in almost every way:

Silver medal at 17, WBA champ at the moment and beat Ortiz in the amateurs. Ortiz is good but I think Khan is a level above and has his number - see Bowe and Lewis

 

Totally agree mate, i also agree that he has a lot to lose, if he wins you get many saying oh well Maidana was limited and power was overrated (Something i do feel is overratted a little..although i'm not foolish enough to believe he can't KO guys at world level...as he shown he can). He loses and boy!...he's gonna get some stick..because it will be a stoppage loss...cannot see a points loss.

Right now, I seem to be doubting Khan more than anyone right now and I'm probably the biggest ****ing supporter here .

 

It happens...i'm like that with Cotto and other fighters i like more then others. It's boxing you just never know.....so it does make you worry.

 

Khan will prevail and will win via UD or late TKO - anyone worrying about Khan should just look at how much trouble Maidana had with Chop Chop FFS!!!

I wouldn't say he has more but he definitely can box better. Better at range, quicker feet, better measurement of range and seems to know his limits now.

Ortiz can box very well but he can brawl as well. IMO Khan is the much better fighter at his specific style in terms of one style, while Ortiz has a blend of being a good boxer who is also a decent brawler.

In this match up with Maidana I'd say Khan stands a much better chance as he won't get dragged into the trenches like Ortiz let himself be. Although we have yet to see Khan stunned or tagged by anything meaningful since the Prescott fight so he might go all out like he used to.
