Does Khan stand any chance against Maidana?

If Khan can keep Maidana at range then he has a chance. No way he could keep it up for 12 rounds, IMO. Maidana KO 9. Maidana isn't exactly new on the scene though so this isn't really a new arguement.

 

Im surprised that Khan is so highly regarded after his "w" over Barrera. Before that fight, most people completely gave up on him, and now all of sudden...imho his "w" over Barrera didnt change anyhting. You cant train chin, and Khan has one of the worst chins in boxing. How the hell should he beat Maidana? He would have to put him away very quick, cause Maidana will land sooner or later. With his high workrate and agressive style, Khan would be in danger from the beginning. Im not saying Khan has no chance at all, but my money would be on Maidana. Maidana can take him out with one punch.

 

It's boxing, you cant be sure for 100%. Kotelnik showed the key to Maidana, Ortiz just didn't used it, so if Khan keeps his chin in safe for all 12 and boxes as he usual does he would overbox Maidana easily. Marcos defence and skills still sucks. But can Khan keep keep his shacky chin in safety for all long 12 rounds? I doubt it.

 

I don't think Maidana is that great, similar to and a step below Barrios. He just got a good match-up in a careless Ortiz, who couldn't seem to remember to keep his left hand anywhere near his face.

 

Kotelnik has a better chin which allowed him to stay in the fight longer.

Khan's **** is weak as ****. The first wild right hand that lands its gonna be lights out.

 

I highly doubt it. Its almost impossible not to get hit for full 12 rounds against an all aggressive guy who punches from all angles like Maidana. Maybe if your name is Floyd Mayweather...Its not that Kotelnik has avoided everything, he was in real trouble at on point in the fight. But Kotelnik is a very good boxer who knows how to defend himself. And it may have helped that his chin doesnt suck ! :hi:

 

He showed excellent movement against MAB, the kid seems to have a lot of tools but no chin. He stands a good chance against anyone who's not likely to land a bomb on him... I'm not all that sure that Maidana can land those looping shots against anyone who can keep his guard up and move his feet.

 

IMO Kotelnik will rematch Maidana, although I have a funny feeling;

Khan stuns Kotelnik (briefly) and Kotelnik goes into his shell. Khan throws a series of pitter-pat punches that elict an enormous reaction from the crowd and the referee jumps in and waves it off!!!! Hope not.

But in response to the thread, no I would say Maidana is more awkward than anything, and will be able to withstand Khan's offence. I mean, Ortiz isn't exactly slow and feather fisted is he????

At SOME point Maidana will land something on Khan...game over.

Yes, he is skillled and does a lot of thing very good. Point is, against guys like Maidana, Torres or Prescott he has to fight perfect ! It will be a huge test for Khan whenever he faces a one punch knockout artist. Not impossible, but at the moment im not sold on Khan beeing able to overcome his bad chin.

 

Kotelnik never has been koed or even being down as amateur and pro, he eated best Witter and Maidana shots and even wasn't close to go down. Also he has the best defence at 140 with Bradley, it's hard to compare who is better because Kotelnik blocks punches with hands, while Bradley more uses movement to avoid punches. And even he was nearly lost by Maidana, who throwed a hell of big punches(I had it 115-113 fo Kotelnik). So i won't give to Khan much chances.
P.S.: Maidana reminds smth between Vitaly and Maussa, isn't he?

 

Khan has no ****ing chin, and Maidana can really bang. Maidana puts Khan to sleep in this one.

Kotelnik has a better beard than Khan,and the Ukranian's defence is excellent.I bet my house that Khan wont be able to hold Maidana at bay for 12 long rounds.
