Kov is cashing out on the fight that will make him the most money.
Kov is going to agree to whatever terms Canelo comes up with or he loses out on his biggest payday.

Look out for a minor injury from camp Kovalev, pushing the fight back a few more weeks. No, he does not have enough time to prepare given his age fully and fights he has had. Kovalev is a lazy trainer, who doesn't like road work, or working to harden his midsection which is proven to be on the soft side.

That's what Canelo is fighting him now. 4 years ago, Kovalev waxes him. Now, its likely Canelo on points, whether he deserves it or not.

Honestly the short turnaround may be a blessing in disguise given how he can go off the rails between fights.

I don't think an extra month off would make him any more of a 12 round fighter than he will be in November. He's an old dude with miles on him who also put a good amount of unnecessary mileage on himself between fights.

Yeah in this case I can't say I blame him. He never really got paid what he could've in the game had he moved to a tier 1 promoter instead of sticking with Duva, so he may as well cash out with an actual good payday now.

He had one bad round, 2 months is more than enough to recover from it.

He almost got stopped by a fighter who had NO experience at the world stage.
Anyone else who had a shred of experience would have stopped Kov.

I think that Kovalev could use more time to recover. It is not optimal for him. However I think Canelo being so much naturally smaller cancels this advantage out. My bet is on Kovalev by KO within 7.

Did SRR rematch LaMotta three weeks after their first fight?

I agree, he's got 10 weeks in between fights. Buddy McGirt, the only one whose opinion really matters said, "it's perfect" because he doesn't have to trim down and work himself into shape, so he can just focus on strategy. So I'll go with Buddy.

So any boxer could fight in May and then again in June because it would be going from a spring fight to a summer fight?:BangHead:

My thoughts exactly Ali didn't exactly live without paying for the damage he took in the ring.
