Did you ever find Dempsey-Fulton? The reason I asked about the ESPN vault is because of their In This Corner Benny Leonard special. They had all this military training footage, something that looked like an exhibition, and I think some footage of Leonard-McLarnin...All of which I had never seen before. Is there any other footage of the great Benny in his prime besides the Tendler fight?
Dick Tiger - Frank Depaula 10-25-1968 This has to be on just about everyone's wishlist. Strange given it was at the end of Tiger's career against DePaula who didn't exactly set the world on fire. Still, by all accounts, it was a *******. The Giardello-Hank fights would be interesting as well.
I never did find dempsey-fulton but he odds are pretty decent its out there imo. I have all that leonard footage. the training footage is from ww1, the exhibition you mention is footage of leonard working with some kids at like an athletic club or ymca or something, and the mclarnin footage has been around forever. it was always said that that 10 mins of the other tendler fight existed but its actually the same one everyone has just mislabeled at the beginning by bigfights.
Does no footage of the other Tendler fight, I've seen a few people list a 1-2 minute clip of it in there collection.
Its racists to whites. Also there may not be footage of Tiger vs DePaula, but Adeyinka Makinde's book on DePaula 'Jersey Boy' gives us pretty much a blow-by-blow account of it.
every clip I've ever seen purporting to be the 'other' leonard tendler fight is actually the commonly available one that has been mislabeled. you can compare the two. the trunks, referee, everything is all the same
I used to think that but I dont think it was destroyed now. In fact I think was exhibited. The same thing was told to me about Dempsey-Miske by Steve Lott but I know for a fact that was shown in theatres.
