Good answer mate. Like u said he avenged both losses and also he was around in one of the strongest eras for many years. To have suffered only two and came back really deserved credit. Despite who the losses were to.
bowe suffered only one loss, razor thin decision vs peak holyfield and gets a lot of critic and harsh words here... lewic got iced twice by single punches by fighters who couldn't carry holyfield's jockstrap and gets far more credit here than bowe
The thing is with bowe Imo is that yes he beat holy, made two defence and then lost back to holyfield. He had a few good wins after that but by the mid 90 s he was gone. Lewis was there a lot longer period of time and winning the majority of the time. Bowe never really had the chance to show us what more he could have done. I ain't knocking bowe cos I like the guy and he brought some colour to the division, but Lewis imo rates above him. But I do get your point.
yes lewis has longetivity and more depth in his resume, bowe has the better one win. but what i really meant was h2h ability... bowe does not get any love here, while lewis gets his credit h2h most of the time.
Bowe got outboxed and out punched by Golota in his last two fights {aside from the low blows} it was bizzare. Riddick technically won the bouts but he retired for a reason. Then Lewis subsequently destroys Golota.
U have a point mate but I generally get the opposite vibe regarding Lewis. The two losses damaged his rep in a few people s minds but he came back from those. That I do give him credit for.
That's because Lewis took the hard fights and Bowe did not. Also, trashing the WBC belt rather than fighting Lewis did incalculable damage to RB.
That's a good point. Whatever the in s and out s of why bowe did that with the belt, the fact is it appeared that bowe just wouldn't fight Lewis. And I truly believe Lewis would have got in to the ring with bowe any day. I don't think Lewis feared any man to be honest.
Yes he does . I know his critics always bring up his one punch ko losses to McCall and Rahman but they are correct . He did get ko with one punch twice. Thomas Hearns is always stopped from being from being ranked as numero uno because of prime losses to Leonard and Hagler. In context they were rated as much better fighters than McCall and Rahman. So why shouldn't Lewis being rated the same ?
