So..................... You really gonna act like Lewis wasn't fighting vs B/C class fighters and looking average, while he stood back and watched all big name heavyweights slug it out, then conveniently fights them when they are old and washed up.

A lewis fight just made little sense to Bowe cause Lewis wasn't a name and still green at the time, while Bowe was at the top of the food chain

bowe got rid of his belt because his manager rock newman saw what lewis did to ruddock....lewis did everything possible to make this happen...and by the way, lewis was in no way at the point of commanding or demanding purse splits % back then...you have no ****ing clue about that newbie

Believe me: I am no big fan of Lennox Lewis.

Still, Bowe didn't seem to want to fight him, for whatever reason.

Lewis fought guys past their best and made his name off them (Tyson, Holyfield). I'm not arguing that at all.

Did he? Not for me he didn't! I don't even consider those fights when looking at his achievements (incidently Holyfield was by no means shot in 1999, he had just avenged his defeat to Moorer and looked great - only 2 fights previously he had destroyed Tyson)

I look at fights like - destroying Golota inside a round after Golota had just battered Bowe for 2 fights. Beating Ruddock, beating Tucker who had only lost to Tyson, beating Tua who had only lost to Ike, beating a still very dangerous Morrison, beating unbeaten fighters (who with hindsight may not be that great) like Akinwande, Briggs (think he was unbeaten??) and Grant. And alos infactically avenging his two defeats

This wouldn't be happening if Lewis didn't default and left us with unfinished business.

The whole world wanted to see him being ko'd in the rematch - that's what gladiators do. In ancient Rome he would be fed to lions for that.

what a joke. Lewis was talking about retiring long time before his fight with vk. You have heard it before but just won't listen with your tongue up so far up the kilts arse.

National Conference Call Transcript World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis,
    Thursday, April 24 2003

Question: Are you looking to fight twice this year?
Lewis: That is fair to say.

Rock Newman always maintained that it was his decision not to fight Lewis. Having said that, I doubt Sugar Bear gave Newman much grief on it.

I'm not sure why Bowe ducking Lewis would affect Lennox' legacy.

He didnt get outboxed for 6 rds (won at 3 rds for me and 2 for the judges), he started slowly then started taking over, walking Vitali down, landing vicious shots and had Vitali on ***** street at the end of rd 6.
