Nope. Bowe would be looked at more favourably even in a hard-fought loss to Lewis.

Hitler once said, if you keep telling people a lie long enough, they begin to believe it as truth

Bowe dumping the belt in the garbage can had NOTHING to do with Lennox Lewis whatsoever

It hurts Bowe, not Lewis one bit. How many of you who think this hurts Lewis were even into boxing back then?

No, it actually enhances Lennox's legacy.

Bowe was so afraid he wanted nothing to do with him.

Foreman was at least man enough to say no thanks.

Tyson paid millions to not fight Lennox.

    Holyfield dragged his feet.

All of the above pads Lennox's resume.

I don't think most of these posters were alive when this fight was in the process of being made. At least that's what it seems like when you read the thread.

You will not be popular amongst the ( mostly Murican ) revisionist idiots on here, because you are telling as near to the truth as possible.

They will try to claim that Lewis ducked everyone, including that insignificant nonentity Byrd, and the big Ukraine he beat when he was well past his best.

The funniest part is these scum would be calling Lewis all kinds of sh*t if he were the younger man, and said I'll rematch the 38 year old Vitali because the cuts stopped the fight, and I want to see if I can knock him out this time.

That is why I don't take any of them seriously.

Try scanning the Jones Jr threads for a perfect example of perverted Murican logic. You will see imbecilic claims about him only losing to Johnson because he had over 50 fights, and was 35 years old.

Erm,,, so did Johnson have over 50 fights at that time, exactly the same amount as Jones in fact. Plus he was also 35, two weeks older than Jones.

No wonder the rest of the world considers Yanks to be dummies.

Bowe not fighting Lewis was the biggest duck of that era.

Bowe was contracted to fight Lewis after fighting Holyfield but threw Lewis a low ball offer or $3million which was a 90/10 split. Lewis initially declined, but then agreed to the tiny purse knowing he would beat Bowe and make more as the champion. Bowe then changed his mind and dumped the belt in the bin. A clear duck.

Bowe then offered Lewis $11 million about a 75/25 split after it turned out he was making less than Lewis was as Bowe made $6 million and $7 million in his first 2 defences and Lewis made $9.2 million against Tucker. Bowe then offered him an extra million but it was actually a worse deal as Bowe's purse increased by $2 million in this new offer.

Lennox then offered Bowe the biggest purse of his career with $13 million despite Bowe having lost to Evander. Lewis only took $18 million so this was about a 60/40 split. But Lewis then lost to McCall.

It's clear by the splits, that when Bowe had something to lose he low balled Lewis to avoid a fight as he never gave him a split higher than 26% while Lewis gave him 42%.

Bowe wasn't that good. He got legitimately smoked by Golota twice.
