I still cant believe some people are trying to credit Lewis's win over Tyson. I tell you what, Tyson is one of the only fighters in history that gets hassle for being out of his peak, he had a short heyday. In 2002 Tyson was done, everyone knew it and it was highly likely he was addicted to coke at the time, how can you train in this state? I remember seeing pictures of Tyson high on weed during his training camp. It was a circus with the press conference rubbish and Tyson was clearly mentally screwed, he wanted out of the fight.
To bite his opponents leg then rant like a mad man, pretty good way to risk getting a fight cancelled and it dam near couldn't get sanctioned anywhere because Tyson was seen as a rampaging nut case. Can you really give Lennox credit for this sham? yeah he won, ok but what does it really mean? Now Lennox uses this fight to prove he finally beat Tyson but its a joke really. Lewis was great but this fight adds nothing to his legacy in reality.

Holyfield's form leading up to and after his fights with Lewis was actually good, his victories over Mercer, Tyson, Moorer, Ruiz and Rahman confirm this., he was still beating top fighters though i do agree with Tyson being scrap iron Mike as opposed to iron Mike as he was pretty much finished at world level by that stage.

These fights were necessary for Lewis to tie up all loose ends. Bottom line. If he hadnt faced Tyson there would be a group of Tyson followers who believe Lewis avoided him and was perhaps fearful. Remember how it was? Tyson was calling for Lennox.
As far as I' concerned Lewis gave Mike a payday and did wha he had to do.

Lewis wasn't a spring chicken himself when he dominated Holyfield in their first bout. He boxed him to a clear victory. 2nd bout Holy made some adjustments and made it close. Lennox deserved credit for these wins as Evander was still the Heavyweight Champion. Revisionist history otherwise.

the holy win was very good. the tyson win was middling, tyson was finished.

To put that in perspective though, it was a better win than any defence of either Klitschko bro.

in the 90's, i felt like lewis (the underdog) would have outpointed holyfield (the favorite). rematch, holyfield gets a ko win.

Bowe beat the best version of Holy that ever stepped into the ring more impressively than Lewis who fought a faded Holy who no longer had any pop on his punches.

People don't give any credit to Bowe for creaming Vander in the rubber match , but Lennox legacy is based off one clear win and one disputed win over Holy 4 years after that drubbing to Bowe.
Bowe would have stopped those two versions of Holy with ease. Lewis fought ultra cautious behind a jab and a plate of body Armour that almost covered his chest.

Lewis's legacy isn't based off the Holyfield bouts. Not even close.

this. ruiz was still a handful if not a good titlist, enough to take any man in his late thirties to a decision. But because its "holyfield who had just fought lewis", its some kind of exception to the rule for some people.

the aim presumably s to undermine lewis becos he stopped vitali....but surely they are undermining vitali bydoing so...
