Nah, you're thinking of a different fight.

I dont know much about Sturm outside of his fight with Oscar, as I tend not to be too interested in watching him fight lesser opposition in Germany, that said, what I would worry about for Macklin, was how much he got hit against one of his more recent opponents.

I also remember watching Macklin on Sky a while back, he was fighting Ajetovic, and I didn't think he looked particularly good in that fight.

I hope Macklin wins dont get me wrong, he's seems like a nice guy, and is from Brum, which isn't very far from me.

Macklin's game seems to rise as the quality of opposition gets better, hope this turns out to be the case anyway.

He is from birmingham born and bred, yet he wears irish shorts and goes on like he is irish with no appreciation to England what so ever. Sturm to win!!!

I've said before...that wasn't a corner stoppage, it was his trainer waving the Jap flag by way of encouragement....Ref misunderstood what was happening and dived in :-(

Haven't thought about this much either.

On the face of it thought it's hard to look beyond Sturm via UD or late stoppage. Macklin will start off busy, however he struggles to really sustain anything too meaningful it seems and punches too wide. There's no great method to what he does, and I'm still trying to work out what type of fighter he's trying to be. Sturm is mediocre but can fire shots down the pipe consistently enough, while also blocking alot of Macklin's work, so I can see him wearing him down and being a fairly comfortable winner.
