Looking at how both Hatton and Maidana were really just natural 140lbs fighters, had similiar builds and had to move up to get their biggest fights, I thought it would be good to see what Maidana has that Hatton didnt , and how that can give Mayweather problems. Ok here goes. Speed - Definately with Hatton , Maidana although not slow isnt in the same league as Hatton. Punch Power - Hatton was a solid hitter nothing more . Maidana is a true heavy hitter and carries it well at 147. Boxing skills - Neither are Willie Pepp but I think Maidana is slightly the better boxer of the two and has a pretty solid jab , which Hatton didnt. Chin and defence - Although Hatton ate alot of shots it was against the most accurate fighter of our generation and I have seen Maidana dropped and hurt by much lesser fighters. Hatton had the better chin and defence. Attitude - Maidana has lost before and maybe looking at this as just a payday , Hatton on the otherhand actually thought he could win and it was his down fall when running into punches. Maidana wont be as reckless. So from the above Maidana will be slower and easier to hit than a man Mayweather put away in 10 when he was prime, but will be more cautious. Now a few years past prime Floyd will either coast to a UD or if Maidan does come forward hard like Hatton did will be stopped in eight.
Maidana literally has nothing more than 1% chance of landing that perfect punch, Floyd will wack him to the body if Maidana tries to bully him, the Argentine cant match Floyd for speed, footwork, handspeed or anything else, this will be a very easy fight for Floyd
no hatton had much much better footwork maidana is extremely slow uncoordinated clumsy and has overrated punching power anyone with a limited skill set can read maidanas punches it takes literally seconds for him to land a punch very very east fight for ducky
No. I don't even think Maidana will "go for it" like Hatton did, even with all his warrior talk. Hatton went out on his shield, full stop.
