Does Marquez' victory last night make him the greatest Mexican fighter since Chavez?

Tasco I think you have to concede that a vast majority of ESB posters had Marquez winning, as well as most from press row and most professional boxers who watched it live.

JMM cheated by stomping on Pacquiaos foot :deal

In all seriousness though if it was scored the other way *******s would be screaming Peds or robbery.

JMM to me is more than just a brawler, he is technicly sound and has a great amount of heart. every time he gets put down he gets back up, a great fighter and in my eyes hed be capable of beating chavez

Full respect to Marquez, he's a great fighter, shame about the decision.

Nonetheless Morales is the greatest Mexican since Chavez. What's more Morales' victory over Pacquiao was much more impressive and more entertaining than Pacquiao v Marquez 3.

Too bad, Marquez is 3-0 vs Pac, and Morales is 1-2 with two stoppages, or else I might agree with you. Marquez beat Pac before and after Morales, Marquez beat the wild brawling Pac and the more skilled Pac ranked #1 in the world two divisions up.

Lets see Pac vs Morales 4, and Pac vs Marquez 4, and Marquez vs Morales 1, 2, and 3 :deal

Before the fight, I said Morales followed closely by Barrera was the greatest since Chavez, now I class all 3 on the exact same level, I have no problem with anyone ranking JMM the greatest now as long as they admit its not clear cut & all 3 are on the same level both in ability & achievements.

The thing is... EM & MAB were facing the better fighters from the start & burnt out quicker as a result, Marquez did not have as many wars & tough fights early in his career, I mean the fight Morales & Barrera had with each other in 2000 probably shaved about 2 or 3 good years off their careers alone & that was when Erik was 23 & Marco 26, things have to be analyzed properly.

Marquez has made a terrific late career surge but does anyone seriously think that prime (as JMM still is IMO) fully prepared versions of Erik Morales or Marco Antonio Barrera would not be able to compete with Manny Pacquiao ?.... of course they would, just like JMM is doing now (Erik beat him while past his own best so even if Pacquiao has hugely improved (which I don`t think is the reality) then at his best its safe to say he could at least be extremely competitive.

Chavez was the no1 in the world tho, from about 87 til 93 were he lost to Whitaker, lets be real here, none of those guys are quite at Chavez level & I`m one of Morales biggest fans, I also have huge respect for the ability of Marquez & Barrera but Chavez was the man.... you have to give respect were its due :good

Ps. Pac was only the no1 on paper, anyone that understands boxing knows that Mayweather is the top p4p fighter in the world, JMM found that out by losing 12-0 & I`m not having a go at JMM, I like the guy as a fighter, I`m just keeping things real here.

First JMM is overrated! I would rank all four greats that you have mentioned above him.

The most telling thing about the latest and greatest trio is that both MAB and EM did not want anything to do with JMM early on.

JMM Trilogy with Pac is greater accomplishment than the MAB-EM wars. I thought JMM could have won all three . . . and I am a big PAC fan.

No, just stop... I don`t want to stray from the thread topic but I can`t let this **** be... Chavez was bigger and better than Marquez, he would bust JMM up prime v prime... Pac ain`t no Chavez, don`t think because Marquez beat this overrated version of Pacman he`d beat JCC, no chance :nono

Ricardo Lopez undeniably so but good that you've mentioned since Chavez cause even St John The Baptist said that he was not worthy to untie the laces of His sandals...

No, because JMM has ducked Humberto Soto for many years.

Pac, EM, MAB have also ducked Soto for years.

What record book, Forest? Every single time someone wants to learn about the fight they gonna youtube it and see Pacman exposed and helped by the judges each and everytime. Stop embarrassing yourself. Oh, sorry, I forget denial is a ******* trademark. My bad.:patsch
